Because, Red Skelton notwithstanding, we shouldn't be teaching children to recite a loyalty oath authored by a socialist and to pledge their allegiance to a flag (or to a government).

Our allegiances should be to the Creator and to principles. If our republic deviates from the principles, then we should get the republic back on track, not change our principles to match the government to which we have pledged allegiance.
