Turkey Attacks Israel. Does The Ottoman Empire Want to Lead the Caliphate?

One may describe Hitler as a “vegetarian” (which he apparently was) but he was still a genocidally exterminationist Jew-hater whose relentless racism and imperial ambitions led to the death of more than 60 million people.

One may also describe the Turks on board the “freedom flotilla” (Orwell himself could not have suggested a better logo) as “humanitarian activists.” But they are still pro-terrorist Turkish jihadists whose mission was to kill Jews, one way or the other. This was a mission which aimed to further demonize the already shamefully tarnished reputation of the Jewish state. This mission planned to force a violent confrontation; were Israeli soldiers to dare defend themselves and if Muslims are therefore martyred—even better public relations, even better for international lawfare against the Israel.

The so-called “humanitarians,” at least on one boat, came armed with metal bars and knives. They were fighters, not pacifists, and they called out traditional Islamic battle cries: “[Remember] Khaibar, Khaibar, oh Jews! The army of Muhammad will return!” According to Palestinian Media Watch:

Why didn’t Israel wait until they reached the 12 mile limit? Very dumb move, AFAIK International waters are a huge no-no to be doing this thing.

http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/politics/nation/NATO-to-meet-Tuesday-on-Gaza-flotilla-raid-by-Israel/articleshow/5995887.cms

BRUSSELS: NATO will hold emergency talks on Tuesday at Turkey’s behest after the deadly Israeli raid on a flotilla of aid-carrying ships bound for Gaza, spokesman James Appathurai said.

“Planning is underway for a meeting... at the request of the Turkish authorities tomorrow afternoon,” Appathurai said. The talks will gather ambassadors from the 28 NATO member countries at its Brussels HQ.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan told reporters in Santiago, Chile, that his government was demanding the NATO council gather to address a crisis that has already seen Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu cut short a visit to Canada and Washington where he had been due to meet with US President Barack Obama on Tuesday.

Appathurai said in a statement that the military alliance is “deeply concerned about the loss of life” in international waters, with at least nine people — many Turks according to reports — killed and dozens more reported wounded.

“NATO does not really have instruments with which to deal with the follow-up from this type of affair,” said a diplomat.

“Turkey has not invoked article five which envisages all allies coming to the aid of a member country that is the victim of an attack.

“But, given that numerous Turkish citizens appear to figure among the casualties, it is understandable that (Ankara) triggers political dialogue with its parners,” the diplomat added.

Greece Cancels War-Games With Israeli Over Attack
ATHENS, Greece (May 31) — Greece on Monday called off a joint air force exercise with Israel after Israeli commandos stormed a flotilla bound to the Gaza Strip, leaving at least nine dead and several injured in an operation condemned as a “massacre.”

Witnesses said the violent incident occurred when Israeli soldiers, ferried to the flotilla by military helicopters, landed on a Turkish boat leading the convoy before opening fire on civilians.

Israel quickly expressed “sorrow” for those killed in the takeover but said that the six-boat flotilla, carrying tons aid to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, had been forewarned of an interception.

In a statement, the Israeli military said its soldiers were attacked with live fire, clubs and knives — a claim spurned by protest organizers who said they were all unarmed.

At least nine Turkish nationals are believed to be among the dead, sparking angry threats from Ankara that Israel would suffer “irreparable consequences” following the “unacceptable” interception.

“This deplorable incident, which took place in open seas and constitutes a fragrant breach of international law, may lead to irreparable consequences in our bilateral relations,” said a Turkish Foreign Ministry statement.

Moments later, Greece, a long-time NATO rival, called off a joint air force exercise with Israel. The war-games — codenamed Minoas 2010 — were due to run through June 3, featuring simulated air combat and attacks on ground forces.

Activists said 35 Greek nationals were participating in the Freedom Flotilla that had set out from Cyprus Sunday, on the last leg of what organizers hoped would be a successful attempt to break Israel’s siege of Gaza, governed by the Islamist Hamas organization.

“We are not certain whether any of the Greeks are among the fatalities or injured,” said Foreign Ministry spokesman Grigoris Delavitouras. “We are still waiting for the Israeli authorities to inform us.”

He said Athens had lodged a demarche with the government in Tel Aviv, demanding “explanations on the whereabouts and condition” of its citizens.

The chaotic early-morning takeover was not the first by Israeli forces. Previously, though, protest ships have been rammed, turned back or escorted to the Israeli port of Ashdod.

Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas billed the deaths as a “massacre” while Hamas has urged Arabs and Muslims to “rise up” in protest against Israel.

Leftist organizations and anti-war movements in Greece said they would be take to the streets in protest marches to the Israeli Embassy late Monday.

“What happened was a murderous attack by Israeli forces bent on retaining their stranglehold on Gaza,” said an announcement by the Stop The War action group in Athens. “Unless Greece wants to be considered an accomplice to the crime, Greece should sever its diplomatic relations with Israel.”

Because it would have been in the middle of the day when the boats arrived -- which was their goal. And Israel was hoping to have stopped the flotilla before everyone woke up. They didn't want live coverage during the day of the boarding.

Putting armed violent Islamic jihadist onto a boat is terrorism and nothing more.

The purpose of this was to make contact, manufacture martyrs for allah, and then blame others for their response.

Islamic racism, genocide, and pathological lying is responsible for this incident.

Sorry but that is irrelevant, at most they were armed with pipes and stolen (from IDF) handguns, hardly missiles that could hit Israel from 12 nautical miles.

If boarding of a ship in international waters is an act of war, Israel just declared to Greece and Turkey, bot NATO members.

Exactly right. The jihadists wanted a bloody confrontation and they got it. Imagine what would happen if a “peace ship” from North Korea, filled with the usual leftist suspects, sailed for Afghanistan. Do you think the US would stop and board the ship? What would happen if the “peace activists” on the ship attacked US sailors? Gaza is in a war zone. The territory is a hot-bed of terrorist activity. Both Egypt and Israel are maintaining a blockade to ensure that no weapons are imported. On several occasions the Egyptians have opened fire on Palestinians trying to force the border and killed many. The world barely noticed. But, in this case, it is JEWS who are trying to defend themselves. A whole different matter.

Tough times for the bolshevik bitch. Does Pelosi:
A) Draft another Amernian Genocide resolution for the House floor to vote on.
B) Condemn Israel's attack "against" Turkey in international waters?

It must be hard to put America down in positions like this. What to do, what to do..

"I have always wondered if Turkey would turn against Israel...."

The first time I ever corresponded with Daniel Pipes was right after 9/11 in contention over a commentary he sent out on his list, he asserting the continuation of "modernization" of Turkey and their invitation into NATO.

He disagreed.

Here we are. Almost ten years later. Turkey is further than ever ensconced in the Marxist/Islamist fold—and predictably hostile towards Israel.

Well...here's another EPIC FAIL for Obama!

From Obama speech in Turkey, April 2009:

“...We know that the road ahead will be difficult. Both Israelis and Palestinians must take the steps that are necessary to build confidence. Both must live up to the commitments they have made. Both must overcome longstanding passions and the politics of the moment to make progress toward a secure and lasting peace.

The United States and Turkey can help the Palestinians and Israelis make this journey. Like the United States, Turkey has been a friend and partner in Israel’s quest for security. And like the United States, you seek a future of opportunity and statehood for the Palestinians. Now, we must not give into pessimism and mistrust. We must pursue every opportunity for progress, as you have done by supporting negotiations between Syria and Israel. We must extend a hand to those Palestinians who are in need, while helping them strengthen institutions. And we must reject the use of terror, and recognize that Israel’s security concerns are legitimate...”

I once had an email exchange with Pipes. After two emails, I asked him were this so called “moderate” Muslim movement, that he keeps talking about is. He never responded.

For anyone who may like to know that Turkey has not (yet and will likely never) become an Islamist Republic.

Turkey's democratically elected parliamentary majority party the Justice and Development (AKP) has been trying to move Turkey closer to an "Islamic Republic," it seems. Just a couple of years ago literally hundreds of thousands of Turks took to the streets protesting the Islamist AKP. They do not want sharia law in their Republic.

There is a constitution and a Constitutional Court which has thwarted the efforts of the AKP; example, the Constitutional Court stopped an amendment that lifted the ban on head scarfs at universities.-- though more than 400 members of parliament voted to permit head scarfs. The Court said no.

The military has warned the AKP and has acted in the past to protect secular Turkey. The AKP, with unwitting help from the EU IMO, are working to end the military's role vis-a-vis protecting the Republic from Islamism.

Currently there is a debate about changes and even a new Constitution. The Constitutional Court is reviewing the amendments. There will be a public referendum Sept. 12th.

As for Gaza of course Protests throughout Turkey follow Israeli aid ship attack

The military has long been tasked with protecting the secular democratic Republic of Turkey.

Before the Turks are condemned lets see how they feel about their Islamist government. The boiling frog anecdote is used by Islamism opponents in reference to what the AKP and its Islamist supporters are doing to Turkey.

Indeed, the “transformation” in Turkey under the Justice and Development Party, or AKP, a party with Islamist background, from the firmly secular and democratic republic anchored firmly with the West, to a new Turkey, still somehow democratic, superficially secular, and definitely not Western, has been done with great skill and patience. It has been done very slowly, in bits and pieces but definitely systematically that, after so many years, the nation is still having serious difficulty in waking up to the reality that nepotism and Islamist autocracy are being gradually consolidated at the expense of secular and democratic governance; the AKP rule has been scratching away the Turks' sense of national identity, while infusing a strong sense of Muslim nationalism into Turkish society instead.

Gee, I hope Obama is not following the AKP's efforts. The article continues..

"Now, what’s next in [AKP's] pipeline [if the referendum is approved later this summer] the country will start discussing the merits of moving from the multi-party parliamentary governance to a presidential system. Most probably, the AKP will build its 2011 election campaign on the need for Turkey to write a totally new constitution and move to a presidential governance in August 2012 when it elects a new president."

"Then? That is clear as well. [Prime Minister] Erdoğan has said 2011 elections will be the last elections he would enter as party leader. ["Hey! That's my line for 2012." Obama] Is not the message clear? In 2012 he will be the AKP candidate for the presidency in the first-ever public vote to elect the president.

"This is a story of Turkey cooked like a frog…"

[End of quote]

Now the prime minister appoints the president. Erdoğan appointed Gul over the opposition of those hundreds of thousands who did not want yet another Islamist in the government. An elected president, Erdoğan or maybe Chavez, could become president for life with some Islamist shenanigans.

I have a lot of respect for the man. He was in the arena opposing radical, expansionist Islam while we were all still getting our socks on.

Nevertheless, he is also the originator of the "moderate" Islam mantra, and still stands by it today. Some day soon, after a major world war, Islam will be outlawed like Nazism, as the rotten fruit of the flawed belief system is realized by the world.

Interestingly enough, it was Pipes who inadvertently predicted this realization and the path to it in "The End of American Jewry's Golden Era":

"There will be more attacks by Islamists on Americans. I can say this confidently because so many signs point in this direction. These assaults will awaken people. I expect it to be a one-way process of what I call education by murder...."

Yep, this is a Muslim Brotherhood operation. Infiltrate the political sphere, water down the Turkish military with your own people and Islamize Ataturk’s work back to the stone age.
