Barack Obama's Credibility Hits Rock Bottom After Oil Spill And Sestak Scandal

The first thing Barack Obama probably should have done was to order the livestreaming Oil Spill Cam to be turned off. As the President insisted to Americans that he was "singularly focused" on staunching the flow, there was that mesmerising image on their television screens of plumes of hydrocarbons gushing relentlessly into the Gulf of Mexico. When any political leader feels they have to declare that they are "fully engaged" in an issue, it is clear that they are in trouble. Talking about it undermines the very point you are trying to make - not to mention that pesky Oil Spill Cam showing that, 38 days into the Deepwater Horizon disaster, not a whole lot had been achieved.

Even judging Obama by his words, he has fallen woefully short over what has now eclipsed the 1989 Exxon Valdez wreck as biggest oil spill catastrophe in American history. He may have described it as an "unprecedented disaster" in last Thursday's press conference but a week into the crisis he was blithely stating that "this incident is of national significance" and rest assured he was receiving "frequent briefings" about it.

George W Bush's unpopularity and perceived incompetence was encapsulated by the way he dealt with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Candidate Obama branded it "unconscionable incompetence". Central to Obama's appeal was his promise to be truly different. His failure to achieve that is now at the core of the deep disappointment Americans feel about him. At the press conference - the first full-scale affair he had deigned to give for 309 days - he appeared uncomfortable and petulant.

Barack does NOT run the country. Rahm Emanuel and the czars do, assisted by useful tools in the Congress. Rahm probably sees this as another crisis giving them more power--as in a moratorium on drilling.(never mind that China and Russia et al are STILL drilling in our Gulf. A friend said drillers he knows personally can see China's flag flying on a rig close to them, but many/most Americans are unaware they are out there.

Petulant is the word for BO--an adolescent in a snit when he isn't praised or petted. A decisive leader he is not.

On a related note, the 0bama Administration has offered leases for sale for new oil wells in the Gulf for depths of 1 to 5 feet.

All proceeds from the sale of the leases will go to fund the newly created Asteroid Space Settlement Department (ASS), headed by an absolutely and totally unpaid cabinet post of the Head Of Livable Environment(HOLE) Czar which is a permanent position only available for appointment by former Democrat Presidents who have never lied, not a single time, nor asked anyone else to lie.

Pres Barack Hussein Obama may have once held dual citizeship. Unconstitutional as that would be, no investigation is pending. By birthright of his father and by adoption by his stepfather, Obama may not be an “American” (a constitutional requirement for holding the office of the presidency). He maintains he is a NBC b/c of his Hawaiian connections.

You are being overly optimistic. The folks who voted for Obama were inveterate imbeciles.

In a nation full of mostly rational people, these events occurring with Obama as President could be counted on to wake a large percentage, if not most, of the people up that Obama as President was a BIG mistake.

However, the reality is that it's not that simple...

Because unfortunately, there are many people who will always vote Democrat no matter what.

Many of them are dependent on government hand-outs so vote Democrat to make sure the benefits keep coming.

Many others are dependent being on in a union for their jobs (this includes many people in local, state and federal government jobs, by the way) and vote Democrat in support of their union membership.

Others are of liberal or leftist political bent on one or more issues that are very important to them (environment, pro-abortion, pro-gay, anti-gun, etc.) so will always vote Democrat for those reasons.

Then there are the people who are just clueless and don't care about politics and support the Democrats because they always have and/or the perceive the Democrats to be nicer and in favor of the average person, etc.

Plus there is this little thing called election fraud...

Take all that into consideration and the Democrats have a heck of a large base of votes in hand to start with...

So no matter what mistakes Obama makes, no matter how big or disastrous they are, there is still a lot of people who will be voting Democrat in the mid-term elections this year and for the President in 2012.

Our only hope is all the people who voted against Obama in 2008 plus the people who voted for him last time and do "wake up" in time to vote against him and his party this year and in 2012 outnumber all the built-in Democrat votes...
