Either the BP Oil Gusher Has Just Completely Blown Out, or BP is Implementing LMRP RIGHT NOW
Washington's Blog ^ | 05/28/2010

Posted on 05/28/2010 8:10:12 PM PDT by Rutles4Ever

I took a break from work, and watched the live feed for a minute. I either just saw the whole thing entirely blow out, or BP is implementing LMRP or hot tap right now.

Specifically, I saw a HUGE rain of white clumps and particles which are either foam-like objects used in a junk shot or methane hydrates.

Then all of the water within the camera view got very, very dark. When I looked more closely, I could make out the outline of massive jet-black plumes of oil rising from below the camera.

At least as of right now (6:00 pm Pacific Standard Time), if you look at the live video feed below, you can see what I mean.

This is either very, very bad, or BP has abandoned the top kill/junk shots altogether and is in the middle of surgery where it has already cut off sections of the BOP and/or riser, and is trying to cap it off with a sealing grommet.

Sorry, I really do not have the time to pick through a few hundred posts to see what was posted when. If you have a direct link to the post, please put it up.

Also, the well has, from conductor to the last liner, what, six, seven different casing strings in it? When you sy "outside of the pipe" do you mean outside of all the strings, or is it in the annular space between two of them?

Want to read something that will get your blood pressure up about 50 points, read this link to another FR thread.
Link to FR thread
Read what the "captain" of the Deepwater Horizon had time to do when all hell was breaking loose and that he'd probably already loss his rig floor crew. The WSJ article attached with the thread is pretty good also.

Thanks for the link. It sounds like the captain had a protocol-based response to her calling out the Mayday. She may not have been authorized to make the call, but his reaction seems to be reflexive more than anything else.

Just part of the Obaplan to nationalize the oil industry.

That thought has crossed my mind as well.

My gut tells me (and I may be completely wrong) that the man froze to the point of inaction and was more worried about his career going by-by than the seriousness of the situation. He really didn't have the time to dress down the young lady with his rig engulfed in flames.
I think he was a man in pure panic mode lashing out and not thinking clearly.

Sounds about right. I also think he is very used to other people doing everything for him. He's just the put on the suit and show up to read the teleprompter guy. He figured it would have been taken care of and then he could use it as a political tool to berate oil companies and the American people.

I gotta say, I do not know how he is sleeping at night with this on his plate let alone going on vacation and playing basketball. Unbelievable.

I don't know him so I can't say. I have seen a host of different reactions to overwhelming stress, and this seems like the 'fall back on the rules and standard disaster procedures' one. Not the 'deer in the headlights' reaction which may have led to numb agreement rather than the re-assertion of the pecking order.

In the latter case, a reprimand would have been second nature. Someone, ideally should be in command to organize rescue and evacuation, and the comment about authorization, which may seem inappropriate to some in extremis was such an assertion that he was in control.

That authority may be limited to prevent a disgruntled employee from pulling the 'fire alarm'.

Her actions seem appropriate in a world where anyone calls 911, but this is a vessel at sea, and the Captain is the guy who makes the call or delegates the duty to someone else. Different rules.

Well I suppose sooner or later we will get some incite as to how this guy was operating and the decisions he made when it hit the fan.
I know this is very small potatoes with everything that has happened and is happening, but it riled me up (coon-asses tend to get riled up easily) ;^)

Do you have any evidence of that? Has there been any evidence that BP bundled money to Obama? Are there actually the consecutively numbered money orders to Obama, or is that your supposition?

Please read carefully. It appears you don't do that. I was pointing out previous instances of Democrat practices to show the propensity among Democrats for completely shady things. I could have mentioned the money bundling for Obama that went on in the Middle East. Remember that? There was a great deal of weirdness going on in Obama's fundraising. To posit that something similar was going on in another sector of Obama fundraising is no stretch of the imagination, especially when Obama has a history of dealing in quid pro quo.

Sorry, I really do not have the time to pick through a few hundred posts to see what was posted when.

And I don't have the time to go back through them either so I guess you will either take my and Mr. Suttles word for it or not as you choose.

When you sy "outside of the pipe" do you mean outside of all the strings, or is it in the annular space between two of them?

One or more. It is impossible to tell for sure. Personally, I think the well was flowing to some degree since shortly after they rerouted around the stuck pipe but that is only a SWAG on my part.

The drilling report for the well tells a BIG story if you care to read it. It is posted on one of the FR threads I linked you to earlier but you are going to have to find for yourself.

I cannot tell you how many of those TQM, or some other three letter acronym, management by committee type meetings I have been asked to leave in my lifetime but it is a fair number. That crap never has and never will work in the real world where decisions have to be made RIGHT NOW!

I was thinking about that this morning- if they captured all that oil we could afford to go cruising again just like in the good old days.

Every Bad People spokesman wheeled out has that new age churchy hypnotic tenor to their voice that tells me they've been to way too many "classes and seminars' on puppetering the public towards your own synthetic viewpoint of any given situation.

Well, this here Foghorn Leghorn don't see no clothes Big Polluters royalty.

I've taken the time to study all their propaganda and I still don't see why they can't just have started sucking it all up from jumpstreet.

Me and the chickenhawk could do it blindfolded with half the equipment they have on scene.

Stupidity or evil intent, that what we have here.

Could be both.

Exactly. I read what you said quite carefully. That is why I am asking if you had any evidence.

So you are simply *positing* that Obama’s BP money was bundled, because of Democratic money scandals in the past?

You mentioned Obama receiving consecutively numbered money orders from BP employees. Where did you read that? Because if he did, then we can accuse BP of paying him off. That would be an impeachable offense. Have you got any more info like that? Did Obama or his team have a closed-door, off-the-record meeting with oil company execs? Is there any evidence directly tieing this administration to pay-outs from oil company execs? Have you read any evidence of a quid pro quo relationship?

You can imagine such a relationship. *I* can imagine such a relationship. But we need evidence! Do you have any that you’ve run across? Because your accusations sound pretty well-founded. You wouldn’t make them just on imagined situations and suspicion alone.

I’m on a well right now, and that gets priority in my book. Mr suttles made his announcement less than a week ago, and how ‘everybody has known this from the beginning’ is the reference I was looking for. A lot has been figured out in the last month. Thanks for your help.
