Senior White House advisers asked former President Bill Clinton to talk to Joe Sestak about whether he was serious about running for Senate, and to feel out whether he'd be open to other alternatives, according to sources familiar with the situation.
But the White House maintains that the Clinton-Sestak discussions were informal, according to the sources. The White House, under pressure to divulge the specifics of its interactions with Sestak, will release a formal statement later today outlining their version of events, including Clinton's involvement.
According to the sources, White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel asked Clinton and his longtime adviser, lawyer Doug Band, to talk to Sestak about the race. It's unclear right now whether the White House will say that Clinton was asked to suggest specific administration positions for Sestak, whether Clinton floated positions on his own, whether Clinton discussed other options not related to the adminstration, or whether employment even came up at all in the talks.

You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to talk to a lawyer and have him present with you while you are being questioned. If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be provided for you at government expense.
So Clinton is a red herring.

Tonight, Barack Obama will host ten House Democrats who voted against the health care bill in November at the White House; hes obviously trying to persuade them to switch their votes to yes. One of the ten is Jim Matheson of Utah. The White House just sent out a press release announcing that today President Obama nominated Mathesons brother Scott M. Matheson, Jr. to the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
Not sure if he is a red herring. Depends on if he really was used as the go-between or not. However, the fact of the matter is that we will never know the truth for the following reasons:
1. Little interest by the msm to pound on this story like they would if Obama was a Republican.2. There likely isn't a paper trail. This was almost certainly handled through face-to-face conversations. Unless they were taped conversations, the chances of any hard evidence coming to light of what actually happened are nil.
3. Even if the Republicans did succeed in getting a special counsel appointed (unlikely), all special counsels do is take years to accomplish anything. And while they are investigating, the matter goes behind closed doors and is all but forgotten.
4. Did I mention that the msm couldn't give a rat's ass about this story because Obama is a Democrat? Just sayin...

Issa is fighting pretty hard on this. If the Repubs keep getting in front of a mike and ask why the MSM is ignoring this, and Rush, Beck et al keep at it, if nothing else will get our base out, out of shear disgust, and keep the Dims at home.

Just heard someone make a comparison to the Birther situation. IOW a bunch of kooks. Now comparing to Bush. Bringing Karl Rove as well.
Don't know. At minimum, this shows just how political Obama and his crew are, but I don't know the relevant law, nor am I a lawyer. It also shows just what a scumbag Sestak is. Just because the guy was in the service doesn't guarantee he has any ethics.
Despite all of this, I think Sestak will win in November, just like that other scumback who lied and said he was in Viet Nam when he wasn't. That's not disqualifiers for heavily democrat electorates. Only Republicans seem to be held to any ethical and moral standard, never Democrats.
