Drowning in the spill: O's still bungling the crisis

President Obama said at his BP press conference that when he was shaving the other day, his daughter Malia asked him, "Did you plug the hole yet, Daddy?"

If Obama wanted to give her a quick lesson in how the world works, he might have said: "No, dear, that's beyond my capacity. I can't stop oil from gushing from a well 5,000 feet beneath the ocean's surface. Now, did you do your homework?"

Malia can be forgiven for not understanding the limits on her daddy's power. She's 11 years old. What's everyone else's excuse?

If the presidency of the United States is the most powerful and majestic office on Earth, it does not confer omnipotence on the mere mortal who happens to occupy it.

Perhaps Obama himself needs to be reminded. A White House aide told a reporter that the president, in a fit of frustration, barked to his aides during one meeting, "Plug the damn hole." That's a meaningless order with the world's best engineers already desperately trying to solve a hellish technical problem.

11 years old....Daddy, did you plug the hole???....Not for nothinbg...But I have an 11 year old grandson....No way he would ask that BECAUSE DADDY IS SHAVING...NOT WORKING ON A RIG

The question is what a 6 year old might ask of her dad....because the kid doesn't have any concept of a hole in the ocean floor.....a mile underwater....

Little chucky krauthammer said last night that obama would not be hurt if the well were capped, even though his press conference was the worst display of incompetence and arrogance in the history of our Nation’s CiC. Well chucky... you also said that if the leak did not stop, this would be very bad for obama... so chucky... is it bad for him or are you going to once again try to cover for your new overlord? Huh chucky?

Can you imagine him in a “real” crisis? Had the bomb gone off in New York City, he probably would have sent the State Department to attack Pakistan and the army to attack the Tea Party Headquarters in Peoria. People have got to understand THEY voted for a man who hasn’t got a CLUE how to run a country. He truly is “just a community organizer”. Any of those folks you saw on the ACORN tapes could have done as good a job as this President is doing. God save us from a real crisis.

Krauthammer has been a great disappointment. He's very bright, and I have really enjoyed his stuff in the past -- but with the rise of Obama and the appearance of Sarah Palin on the political scene, I find that I almost always regret spending time reading Krauthammer's opinion.

He's not as useless as Peggy Noonan, but he's darn close.

Obama is neck deep in this tar pit.

I was doing some digging around and found that BP isn’t a published member on the CCX but they are a big player on the ECX. The ECX in turn is 50% owned by the CCX.
