The light-brown material that was seen spilling out of the well throughout Thursday was the previously pumped fluid from the "top kill" procedure mixed with oil, he said..."I probably should apologize to folks that we haven't been giving more data on that," Suttles said when asked why it took so long for BP to announce it had suspended the top kill.

Suspicious though, forever and a day tankers hook up to refinery docks w/spring loaded swinging pipes and other creative sturdy hookups.
Why haven't the 'bots taken this tech solution to the leak?
Looks like the bots are trying to do something with some kind of block and tackle. hmmm, some kind of heavy lift coming up?
That's what I thought, too, when he came out with a press conference. They fix it, and he tries to take the credit for it immediately.
If it fails, will he take credit for being a failure just as fast?
Any refinery lay down yard has more than enough tech to create a gadget to recover everydrop of that oil.
Wow! I'm hypnotized.

I’ve gotta believe these ROV operators can’t pass those prize-grabber-coin-operated-machines at the grocery store without dropping a dollar into it.
Robots appear to be trying to get a block and tackle, block and tackle is used to move something heavy. Also robots just finished attachment something to the top of the BOP. I think they are getting ready to shoot the “junk shot” into the BOP.
What is on screen now, appears to be a parts basket.
It looks like they are putting the busted parts (broken feed lines, hydraulic lines ?) into the basket to be hauled to the surface.
Of course, that’s just AWAG.
UPDATE: ROV on the move.
Looks like they are retracting a long hose now.
They are using the robotic hand to slip the hose through while being retracted, so it doesn’t get caught on the other machinery. It is amazing to watch.
For all who have not had time or a good source of the facts:
Response in numbers:
22,000 personnel deployed
1,100 vessels on site
2.5 million feet of boom deployed
243,000 barrels of oil-water mix recovered
17 staging areas set-up to protect shoreline
23,000 claims filed, 9,000 already paid
When LBJ had JFK killed, you don't think that it was a small operation, do you? J Edgar Hoover had assistance from organizations that JFK never couild have known they existed.
They would prefer to eliminate Obama the public humiliation way.
Criminal incompetence or disaster profiteering by the gov’t? While the engineers try to stop the leak, or fiddle around, whichever you subscribe to, it is unconscionable that we are not employing a massive effort to protect the coast and contain/clean the spill.
I was directed to this youtube video from http://www.theoildrum.com/node/6520 regarding cleanup. I’m not sure I completely buy the original premises completely, but if the technical info is true, then what is going on here?
(Warning, every other word in this video is f*ing. It is the default adjective.)

I think this oil spew has been a perfect metaphor for his presidency.
-Spending bills spewing from Congress
-Bailouts spewing from Congress
-Illegals spewing across our borders
-BS spewing from TOTUS
-Vile hatred spewing from those who continue to blame Bush for everything that goes wrong
Imagine if the media hated Obama like they did Bush, he would be so dead !
Thank you for the props and for sticking up for me.
Yeah, I got hit pretty hard by the pompous naysayers, here. In fact, I was actually beginning to doubt my own eyes! LOL!
Funny, none of the pompous naysayers took the time to personally apologize to me... Oh, well. Their loss.
Again, thank you very much.
Cheers
