Reporting from Houma, La. Engineers have succeeded in stopping the flow of oil and gas into the Gulf of Mexico from a gushing BP well, the federal government's top oil spill commander, U.S. Coast Guard Adm. Thad Allen, said Thursday morning.

“But Team Obama was AWOL”
Even Matalin’s “serpent-headed” husband said this.
It looks to me like the plume is going out sideways after it gets away from the riser. The current on the bottom of the Gulf is carrying it away.
At any rate, let’s hope they get a nice big concrete cork in that puppy today!
I don’t know the procedure nor time schedule to get the cement plug in place but it does take some time. I think they use a quick set type cement but it isn’t instant.
Just in time for boz0 to take his chicago and australia vacations.
See?
Obama speaks (”just plug the damn hole”)
and it happens.
Just like “let there be light”...
Let’s hope it’s mud & cement we’re seeing.
He makes me sick.
Short of listening to Premier Hussein’s resignation speech, I can’t think of anything I would rather hear about this morning.
They aren’t finished by a long shot, but if they stopped the outflow that is incredibly good news. From what I can gather the next step will be to pump as much concrete in that hole as they can in order to seal it permanently.
Anderson Cooper was complaining about Obama partying with oil executives last night.
//just what exactly did the government of nobama do to stop the oil//
They haven’t done squat. BP and their ilk were the only ones capable to resolve this. We got to give them the credit for that.
only thing that kind of bothers me here is that plugging up the hole by pumping a bunch of mud and cr@p into it is not exactly a high-tech solution. Shouldn’t this have been the thing they tried FIRST? You know, before the multi-million dollar Thunderdome that could not handle the freezing temperatures a mile down?
The live feed I’m looking at:
Doesn’t seem to appear the flow has stopped yet.

There are engineers and others from seventy companies, at least, involved in the topkill effort. BP is the lead... and I for one am glad that they have been in the lead. They are among the best in the world at things like this.
BS. Bp had to get the heavy mud there. This was probably the plan from the start... they just had to get enough there to work. BP = British Petro... Obama isn’t controlling them. He didn’t delay them, nor did he help them. He is a non player.
Some on the “left” are beginning to turn on Obama.
Watching some of the coverage a thought that fat Parish Pres. Billy would have been the guy. He seemed genuinely pissed, but by 10PM last night someone must have gotten to him, because he started in with the talking points about how he knows Obama cares, blah blah.Yes, exactly! We noticed that too. Either he increased his meds for his own high BP, or was on some other sort of relaxant, but he totally tuned it down. But Bobby Jindal was on today, and he's still not saying things like, "I know we have a really, really smart president" [like James Carville also changed his tune and was spouting same time as fat Billy]. But Republican Representative Steve Scalise from LA is still plenty hot. They just showed some live coverage of him, and he's smokin'.
I hope they pump concrete into the entire depth of that well.
yes, comrade obozo will take credit.
