Reporting from Houma, La. Engineers have succeeded in stopping the flow of oil and gas into the Gulf of Mexico from a gushing BP well, the federal government's top oil spill commander, U.S. Coast Guard Adm. Thad Allen, said Thursday morning.

Meanwhile Gov Bobby Jindal is still waiting for permits and environmental impact statements to be approved by Washington DC so he can add to the barrier islands that would help stop oil from making it to the marshes.

I hope this is true, but the live feed says it’s not. Still a lot of stuff ejecting from the BOP.

The well hasn’t been plugged so there will be ejections coming from it as long as they are pumping mud/fluids down hole. The top side still has holes and hasn’t been sealed. If what they are saying is true then they have in effect stopped the oil coming up with greater pressue from the fluids they are injecting from the top.

If Obama’s theory is stop the leak than worry about how to clean it up on the oil spill. I wonder why he can’t adopt the same theory on immigration.

Off topic a little.... I heard this find is HUGE on the order of Saudi Arabian fields. So, assuming that other fields exist in deep water... peak oil is delayed by many years. Correct?>>>>>>>>>

Yes this field is very very big. It helps push back peak oil but more and more oil everyone gets is not easy oil. It will be oil that costs 30-40-50-60 dollars per barrel just to get out of the ground. The USA should be using coal and natural gas more. We are very well stocked in those areas

This is the easy part, staopping the leak. So Obama can take creidt for stopping the leak.

What should have been the focus of the federal government, organizing the containment and cleanup of the spill, has yet to see any progress. In fact, 1990 OPA puts the president in charge of containment and cleanup, not well drilling — which even this president knows nothing about.

I agree. I’m just saying. The spin is coming. He’s going to head down there tomorrow with a plugged leak and basically say...

“Now, that my administration has stopped the leaked we’re going to keep the pressure on BP to pay pay pay and cleanup.” He’s going to TRY and make it appear as as soon as he got involved the problem got fixed.

I agree with your posts. The criticism, blame, etc needs to be kept up. Obama does NOT care. Obama has done NOTHING. Photo-ops don’t cut it. We need locals with the stones to stand up to this fraud and call him out.

Watching some of the coverage a thought that fat Parish Pres. “Billy” would have been the guy. He seemed genuinely pissed, but by 10PM last night someone must have gotten to him, because he started in with the talking points about how he knows Obama cares, blah blah.

This is why zerO let the Gulf spill get out of hand, to show the damage a spill can do and so he can shut down any future drilling to push his green agenda.
