HICKS: Rights of a child is parental issue
Washington Times ^ | 5/25/2010 | Marybeth Hicks

If you're a parent, you are probably too busy doing the day-to-day work of raising your children to worry about an international treaty that could actually undermine your authority over them.

But if you've ever insisted that your teenager drag himself out of bed on a Sunday morning to attend church with the family, or required him to find a part-time job to pay for the increase in your car insurance, or — heaven forbid — if you've ever spanked a young child for an act of willful disobedience, there are folks who would like to override your parental judgment.

Folks like President Obama, in fact.

The issue of parental rights is at the heart of the ongoing debate over the U.S.'s failure to ratify the U.N.'s Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). Mr. Obama thinks it's a travesty that the U.S. and Somalia — a country not known as a beacon of human rights — are the only two nations that haven't ratified this treaty. Not only does he support its intrusions into our national sovereignty on behalf of children, he is openly embarrassed to be on the short list with Somalia.

Up to now, it's been a worried American home-school community that most vocally opposes the CRC. That's because the treaty clearly places responsibility for the education of children in the hands of the federal government. Such a mandate would certainly threaten the freedom of states to allow, and of parents to choose, home-schooling as an option to educate their children.

But it's not just home-schooling parents who ought to be nervous about the CRC. We all should, because the language of the treaty — which would supersede all American law other than the Constitution — radically changes the authority structure among parents, children and the

“Rights of a child is parental issue”

AMEN! “Rights” come from God. God gives children to parents.
Parents are the primary authority for those children....not the state.

HIDEOUS TO THE MAX.

HOWEVER, LONG PLANNED . . . READ THE QUOTES, FOLKS:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/religion/2519352/posts?page=2#2

DENIAL of the plans discussed in the quotes of our leaders the last 110 years . . . doesn’t neutralize those plans.

DENIAL just tends to neutralize a more effective prep and response set.

BTW, Mark, I think many parents fail the first 6-8 years of life—they fail to bond sufficiently well, SUFFICIENTLY lovingly. And, they fail to model well the priorities they SAY are theirs.

Parents who do bond well, model well—particularly dads, imho, may well . . . as Francis Schaefer taught . . . may well be training rebels against the conventional society. However, they will likely also be training residents-to-be of Heaven.

THAT’S the GREATER priority!

This is the global governance that all the “conspiracy nuts” have been warning us about for years. Are we listening now? Are they still “nuts”? Ever think you would have to worry about such a thing.

Keep in mind the collection of globalist clowns squatting in the White House, Congress and the fed agencies now and ask yourself...Is it possible that treason is so acceptable now, that we would allow this to happen?

The November elections are just the beginning of the fight. Anyone willing to vote for a democrat is self-destructive fool. And lukewarm RINOs are only slightly better.

Many predict blood in the streets if the USA tries to enforce this.

AMEN! “Rights” come from God. God gives children to parents.
Parents are the primary authority for those children....not the state.

And ultimately, the parents will be held accountable to God for how their children were raised... not the state.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

The right to homeschool is a fundamental right from God!

This right does not belong to the state to “allow” parents and “option” to homeschool.

The Bible warned us about a global government hundreds of years ago and people didn't listen. They're not going to listen now, either, if what Scripture has to say about it all is accurate (and it is).

Sad to say, this country's days are numbered. People need to be seriously making contingency plans, food, some form of commodity for currency, and of course guns and ammo.

I’m thinking that we’re going to be seeing blood in the streets long before then if this illegal issue isn’t dealt with.

Destruction of the natural family and the natural authority of parents is necessary in order to destroy our country. Actually, the plan is to control the entire world, it seems. The UN is evil to the core. Marxist, Jew-hating, religion and God hating (other than Mohammedanism, of course), freedom-hating, God given rights-hating, Jihad-loving, pervert promoting, thuggocracy kowtowing. That's what the UN and 0thugga and his minions are. Hateful, destructive and evil.

It is God's arrangement that parents control their children and decide what is best for them. Any attempt to destroy this is an attack against Nature and Nature's God.
