Actually Atlantis will be re-groomed to stand by as an emergency vehicle. But still, these shuttles were designed to fly 3 times the missions they’ve completed.

I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again: We need an SSTO (Single-Stage-To-Orbit) vehicle! We CAN do it...why WON’T we???
