Sarah Palin took to her Facebook account today to inform her readers that Joe McGinniss, an award-winning reporter and author, had rented the house next door.
I saw Ben Smith flag this earlier today but did not really appreciate how strange and, frankly, immature Palin's post was until I read it.
Palin informs her readers that McGinniss is "overlooking my childrens play area" and "overlooking Pipers bedroom." Alternately sounding angry and mocking, she refers to "the familys swimming hole," which at first reference sounds like she's accusing McGinniss of checking out the Palins in their bathing suits, until you realize the family's "swimming hole" is Lake Lucille. And she posts a photo of the space McGinniss is renting, captioning it, "Can I call you Joe?"
Can somebody explain to me how this isn't a despicable thing for Palin to do? She describes McGinniss as the author of "the bizarre anti-Palin administration oil development pieces that resulted in my Department of Natural Resources announcing that his work is the most twisted energy-related yellow journalism theyd ever encountered."
Another way of putting it would be that McGinniss is an investigative journalist who wrote his first best-seller at age 26 and was shopping a book about Alaska and the oil industry when Palin was named John McCain's running mate. And another way of describing those "bizarre" pieces is that no one has ever challenged the facts in them.
Palin, who has an undergraduate degree in journalism, should understand that articles don't become untrue when the subjects don't agree with them.
Has McGinniss gone to an extreme to get a story? Well, we don't have his side yet -- not that this has prevented every other media outlet from typing up Palin's Facebook post like some lost Gospel.....

Wonder if the commiepost is paying the rent?
Pray for America
Also Mike, this same clown did the bidding to have dinner with Palin for the troop thing a while back. This guy’s certifiable.
(((( WaPo writer attacks Sarah Palin - Sarah list ping ))))
Both McGinnis and this guy need some professional help.
Man, I had to soil my browser to go read that.
Ugh.
Nope. Nothing wrong with an investigative “journalist” acquiring a house so he can sit on his deck with a pair of binoculars and do research for his book.
Heck, If you go up to visit your stalker buddy, there is always the chance, however slight, that you might catch a glimpse of Levi Johnston, Dan. Just get yourself a bag of cheez doodles and a beer, and settle in for a long night.
Nope. Nothing creepy about that guy, or you, Dan. That is what Pulitzer Prizes are made of these days.
“but she did mention shed be a good neighbor and she might even bake him a pie or cake or something as a welcoming gift.”
That would be her best strategy and I hope she does it. Bombard him with kindness. He only knows how to handle ugly antagonism. I hope she hands him the complete opposite.
I hope she calls him every day! I hope she forwards funny emails! I hope she sends him a birthday card and brings over Christmas cookies!
Sarah Palin has the Left Wing in knots.
Sarah is the threat to the Left and she is their target.
The wannaBies are lightweights and why the Left
don’t waste their time with them.
He has no side to give. He is mentally off to do this.
Complaining about being treating unfairly by the mean, horrible payback queen of the conservative mafia.
Sheesh, they act like she's somehow got the CIA and FBI to come against them. What whiners.
The creep. But she’s building a fence. Isn’t it just like these crazed liberals? His face needs to be known to locals in Wasilla, so that he can’t even buy groceries without someone giving him the stink-eye.
how exactly would this guy not qualify under stalker laws?
if i went into the house, would i find pictures of the Palins spread out, maybe on the walls? yes.
would i find pictures with items circled? yes.
would i find items the Palins might have discarded? yes.
seriously... this guy needs a restraining order. of course, we all know what he is hoping for... he is hoping to provoke a reaction out of the Palins. such a reaction would be normal for any normal person... but the Palins must be completely restrained.
i think a few hell’s angels types need to take up residence in his front yard. he is a celebrity after all... so long as they take a picture or two... he can be treated the same way he is treating the Palins... constantly there, watching every move...
if i were in the area, i think i’d arrange a ‘meeting’ with him at the local pub... or maybe take him ‘fishing’ somewhere... very ... remote
The real question on my mind is why does it bother this guy so much that she is calling out a stalker? Did she just flank something they had planned?
You’re absolutely right. They already know that she’s the one to fear in 2012.
McGinnis’s book is supposed to knock her out odf the race. How utterly transparent.
By renting the house next door, to stalk and spy on her, he’s just made his book into a trashy, hit piece scummy novel.
Not to mention the fact even his family has labeled him a stalker. Any editor that touches this book will be as crazy as Joe.
Defending what is clearly sickening stalking behavior, by someone well known for unprofessional conduct! What next?
Seems this weiner Weigel believes there is one rule for so-called “journalists” trying to make money and intimidating the Palin family, and another rule for private citizens worrying about their family.
The MSM probably has deal with McGinniss to put up listening devices in his house so that they can pick up conversations in the Palin’s home....
I wish she had the full force of the FBI and Secret Service and were the Marxist a man, and a smart politician, he would order protection for her.
Greta is covering it now, but not very seriously.
Gotta hand it to the Leftwing programmers - they’ve got their rails and they run on them.
The sickening thing is how anxious the liberal bootlickers are to imitate whatever insane reversal of sanity they’re told follow.
If that's true, I hope they're ready for the blow back.
