Obama will be on vacation in Chicago this Memorial Day, instead of presiding over Memorial Day ceremonies at Arlington. This may be the first time since the Civil War that a president will not pay respect to the veterans passed.
Back when slick was in office, several of our Scouts, including our Son made Eagle. Its the norm for the President to send a letter of Commendation from the President to each one earning Eagle. Our Troop and many others waited until W was in office and got the letter from him instead of “IS”.
Biden’s speech at Arlington will surely cover all those Belgians buried there who died to preserve world freedom and democracy.

Maybe he’ll visit a local mosque and lay down a wreath at the tomb of the unknown muslim.

I can’t imagine how exciting it would be for a normal, America-loving, CHRISTIAN, family, with two young girls, to spend their first Christmas as First Family in the White House.
Okay - from www.usmemorialday.org/remarks.html, I find that President Bush apparently went to Arlington in 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006. In 2002 he was in Normandy.
I don’t think I will completely fault Obama for this one (provided Biden attends in his stead). I hate to be even-danded when it comes to judging “the won”, but...
Besides, as a veteran, I would prefer that Odumbo stay away from Arlington. That ground is hallowed to me - and his footsteps befoul it.

As noted, the president will be going to the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Illinois. This national cemetery, one of more than 100 cemeteries across the country, is the resting place of many of our service personnel and war heroes.
I certainly do not agree with the president’s political approach, but to knock him on this is considered an eye roller by many.
Ooops - I thought that Bush had missed 2007 and 2008, as well. My mistake.
I guess I will have to retract my tolerance for the Kenyan a$$ on this subject.

Well, when W visited the troops—which he often did in secret—you always knew he was for real. He loves those people.
Whatever my criticisms of W, I have never doubted his sincerity as CIC.
