Obama will use Memorial weekend for a trip home to Chicago (will skip Arlington National Cemetary)

With the long Memorial Day weekend on the horizon, President Obama is finally addressing one of the great broken promises of his administration: his early pledge to return home to Chicago every six weeks or so.

(snip)

On Monday, Obama will make remarks at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, south of Chicago - missing the usual tradition of presidents speaking at Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day.

His mere presence dishonors our patriots in Arlington. They’re already rolling in their graves at his treason.

Anyone like to place odds that this is his infantile reaction to the tepid/cold response he got from West Point cadets the other day?

Oh sure. I know. He is above all that childish hissy fit stuff like flipping the bird to people, calling his critics teabaggers and the like.

He would never, NEVER disrespect the memory of our fallen dead. We all know that.

"I can’t remember a President skipping Memorial Day at Arlington."

I believe George W. Bush missed Memorial Day at Arlington National Cemetery in 2001 and in 2004. In 2001, he was in Normandy and I don't recall where he observed the holiday in 2004. Maybe someone can help me out with that.

I googled it; he was certainly here in Washington on Memorial Day 2004 because he was dedicating the World War II Memorial. I can’t imagine not including Arlington in the schedule for that day.

And he was also there in 2001:

“No big loss. He is REALLY out of place around anything military (or American, for that matter).”

.... or honorable or reverent...etc.

Personally if I had someone buried at Arlington, I would be GLAD that the POS would not be going there for such an important holiday.

It’s deliberate. No doubt in my mind. He is smart enough to know that.

He just cannot bring himself to even fake being patriotic...

It's kinda like the joke about your mother-in-law driving off a cliff in your new Lincoln, isn't it? One the one hand, I'm outraged that any President would skip this; on the other, he's not fit for their company.

Yeah, at Arlington he’d probably talk about all the innocent civilians (most especially non-American civilians) who’ve been killed by our troops throughout the centuries. How many they freed is not relevant.

If this POS commander-in-thief made a speech in Arlington, at the end of the speech... I’d predict something like an earth quake, from all the veterans turning over in their graves.

Give him a drug test when he returns.

He has admitted he snorted coke “when he could afford it”.

My guess is he can now afford a lot of it now.

I have trouble finding words for how this makes me feel. Obama is the most dishonorable, yellow-bellied, red-diaper-doper-baby, everything-that-makes-America-great-hating president we’ve ever had, if indeed he is president and not foreign poser. Not a birther, just wouldn’t be surprised if it turned out there was some truth to it.

Frankly speaking, I feel it would be more disgraceful for him to walk amongst our honored dead. His presence at Arlington would be far above his pay grade and besmirch the memory of true American patriots.
