LONDON (AP) - Britain's top medical group on Monday banned a doctor whose research suggesting a link between a common vaccine and autism caused millions of parents worldwide to abandon the shot for measles, mumps and rubella.
Dr. Andrew Wakefield was the first to publish peer-reviewed research suggesting such a connection, even though the study was later widely discredited. The ruling by Britain's General Medical Council found him guilty of serious professional misconduct.
Wakefield, 53, then moved to the U.S. and set up an autism center in Texas, where he has a wide following, but faces similar skepticism from the medical community. The ruling in Britain only applies to his right to practice medicine in the U.K., not in other countries.

I'm glad you finally came clean...the only reason you oppose vaccines is the idea that someone, somewhere will actually make a profit. There's a guy in the White House right now who is also very concerned about profits...maybe you should hook up with his team.
LOL!!! Now you are asking me to watch those videos AGAIN!!!!I will have to do it at a later time because I do have work that has to be done so will get back to you in a few days.
Also. Wakefield may be guilty....I have not seen most evidence nor have the time to make sure the evidence wasn’t forged or libeled. Like I said....he is just one man...and NOT A HUGE INTRUSIVE corporation that affects billions of people. He just had ideas that may or may not be incorrect and may have tried to use fraud to get the ideas out.
I don’t know!!!!! but I do not mind ANY ideas that are put out that NEED to be debated. I don’t understand the anger in arguing ideas that differ from your own. The facts that it may be fraudulent is, of course, relevant, but that does not disqualify his hypothesis which should be pursued in the effort to get to the truth.
The science on vaccination safety and results is NOT settled by any means. Why do you pretend it is? That is such a fascist way of thinking and totally unscientific and NOT acceptable in a free country.
How concerned do you get when you see a pregnant woman eating a tuna sandwich? Smoking? I hope it's proportional to your vaccine histrionics here on FR.
That is the single dumbest comment I've ever seen on FR.
Congratulations.
LOL!!! You're the one trying to prove your claims.
I do not mind ANY ideas that are put out that NEED to be debated. I dont understand the anger in arguing ideas that differ from your own.
So the studies that followed hundreds of thousands of children weren't enough to convince you that Wakefield's study (with only 12 kids, 12 KIDS!!!) was a lie?
The facts that it may be fraudulent is, of course, relevant
Are the dead kids and the outbreaks of these diseases now also relevant?
The science on vaccination safety and results is NOT settled by any means.
Wakefield's fraud is settled.
She’s been practicing a long time. She earned it.
You don’t think they make profits on sickly people? LOL The more diseases they INVENT the more pills they sell. Look at the statistics on the drugging of our children. THAT IS A CRIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Geeees! Read:
America Fooled: The Truth about Antidepressants, Antipsychotics and How We’ve Been Deceived.
I could list 20 books that would prove that drug companies are literally poisoning children for profit with pills designed to combat made-up diseases.
Other people document how mercury in the body creates infertility. If you do not think that govt. has been interested in population control than you really do have your head buried in the sand and never read anything written by Margaret Sanger and other progressives, even before 1900.
That you are so trusting of government and corporations intentions shows real naivete. There are no virtuous governments or corporations. All Founders said you must always be vigilant because they understood the evil of man who seeks power in governments and corporations and that power usually corrupts.
Perhaps you'd like to explain why George Washington instituted mandatory Smallpox vaccination on all troops during the Revolutionary War.
What studies? Where are your statistics? The studies paid for and results decided in advance for the “proof” of the “safety” of vaccines done by the very agencies that make them and try to get their products on the market?
The children that were followed for two weeks???? is proof?????? that no damage is done????????? HA HA HA
You are telling me they understand everything that happens to the body when they inject known toxins into that body in an unnatural way and there is NO HARM? What a crock!!!!! Read the LISTS on all drugs and vaccines of the possible side effects. HA HA HA! GEEEEEZZZZZ!
By trying to discredit all studies, which linked damage resulting from vaccines? Why did they get stuck paying damages for their vaccines in court cases?
THEY KNOW THEIR ARE RISKS!!!!!! WHY ALL THE LIABILITY LAWS?????!!!!!
Several subsequent studies, all much larger and better designed than Wakefields, have confirmed an absence of excess cases of autism or bowel disease in children who have received MMR vaccine. In 1999, for example, Dr Brent Taylor looked at 500 cases of autism in the Royal Free Hospital and found no excess in immunised children. A very large and well designed study in the USA with a proper case control design and with all vaccination dates confirmed by medical records looked at the incidence of inflammatory bowel disease in people who had received MMR vaccine, other measles-containing vaccine, and no vaccine. The risk of inflammatory bowel disease was the same for vaccinated or unvaccinated people. The average time between vaccination and the development of bowel disease was 12 years. Only 1% of cases developed inflammatory bowel disease within a year of vaccination and 1% of controls developed inflammatory bowel disease during the same time period. This study was cited in the medical journal Bandolier and its results are available free online on http://www.jr2.ox.ac.uk/bandolier/index.html
In conclusion, the Wakefield study was scientifically flawed on numerous counts. I am surprised that neither the editor nor the reviewers spotted these flaws when the paper was submitted. Had they done so, the public would have been saved the confusion and anxiety caused by false credibility conveyed by publication of the study in this prestigious journal.
The children that were followed for two weeks???? is proof??????
Yeah, that's what Wakefield did, now it's a bad thing? LOL!
Any luck on the mercury numbers? Or were you making stuff up again?
All science at that time proved that to be effective to save lives.
It just disqualified that study—certainly not the hypothesis that there may be a connection between Autism and vaccination. You must be a product of public schools and have had multiple vaccinations which killed off numerous neurons...
What...it was later proved to be ineffective?
What’s next a website showing that most auto accident casualties die of internal injuries and not the accident itself?
Well, well. It seems you lied not only about what Wakefield alleged, but the conflict of interest with Lancet editors, etc. The fact you claim he is responsible for deaths is reprehensible and you should get down on your knees and repent. You misrepresented Dr. Wakefield, as did the press. (Just like poor Tailgunner Joe!) Shame, shame! It is just what I thought...an Alinsky-iting of a great man, a whistleblower who dared to attack a giant. I knew his paper had the ring of truth to it!!!!!!!
Children are being used as guinea pigs at a time when their brain development is most vulnerable to toxins. All vaccines contain a number of toxins. If you have children or grandchildren you should be very aware of the aggressive vaccination schedule which has literally become insane over the last 20 years. You should weigh the risks.

Wow...the smoking gun...Wakefield is interviewed on a friendly website and he claims innocence. No mention of his $1 million compensation or his vaccine patents. It’s just those meanies at the Medical Board after him again. Why, he ought to sue them...but, oh yeah, he tried that already and had to pay a settlement....darn.
