To influence people, you have to have people that have the intelegence to know they are being influenced. Leave the Middle East to their camels. If they are a problem to the world, handle them from the air. No more boots on the ground.

Hard to bomb someone into the stone age when they are already there (sacrasm).
I am underwelmed in our ability to bring peace, universal prosperity and democracy to an area of the world with no history in any of those concepts.

The Syrians have their boots on the ground
and (in the words of Pres_ _ent Obama)
on the throat of the American people.

That ought to do the trick.
First Pelosi, then Kerry.

"Does anyone know why it is up to the US to bring peace to the middle east?" Oil,,.................. and votes.
In truth, all that's really needed to achieve "middle east peace" is to back Israel with military supplies and leave the rest to them.

LOL. No matter how much Obama grovels to these folks, it ain’t going to help. Peace Through Strength works. Peace through weakness, grovelling and effeminate foreign policy will only earn their scorn!

“Syria: Obama has failed in peace efforts and lost influence in Mideast”
Not to mention total alienation of our closest and most competent ally in the Middle East.

U.S. President Barack Obama "raised hopes" in the region, said Assad, but has failed to accomplish any significant peace maneuvers. Truth is.......the troublemakers in the ME have taken note of Obama's action, or inaction, in the face of problems worldwide. They know this is the time they can attempt to achieve their goals without consequences from the US.

ASod, just take a Valium and call us in the morning.
If you think this president hasn’t pulled his pants down and presented himself to you, you just haven’t been paying attention.
