Sestak: WH offered job if he left race (Obama broke the law and now for the cover-up)

Rep. Joe Sestak, D-Pa., said Sunday the White House had offered him a job if he would withdraw from the primary race against Sen. Arlen Specter.

Sestak, who defeated the five-term incumbent Specter to win the Democratic nomination in the Senate primary, was asked on CBS's "Face the Nation" if the Obama administration had offered a position in exchange for his agreeing not to run.

"Yeah, he replied. "I was asked that question months after it happened. And I felt an obligation to answer it honestly. I said, 'yes.'

Asked what job, Sestak said: "No, no … and I said at the time, anything beyond that just gets into politics."

Ah, but just think of the power this juicy bit of information gives Sestak. It’s the stuff of which dime store novels are made.

I would think the Attorney General would be all over this.

Unless he is corrupt to the core.

“Obama Broke The Law and Now The Coverup”

How can Democrats break the law when the ARE the law?

They make the law, they enforce the law, they ARE the moral code of humanity; how can they possibly be contrary to the perfection that they ARE?

One is hard-pressed to argue with perfection, brilliance and generations-ahead human evolution, especially when worshipped by a large part of the eclectorate.)

Let's see how angry Snarlen Arlen is after his loss. I would like to see him become involved in this topic once again and invoke his observations of Misprision of a Felony. This story should get some big legs about now. Either Sestak must name names or he must completely recant and deny his "honest" answers on this.

That’s the reason why I’m against term limits. I want elected officials in power, not non-elected bureaucrats.

Great point. There should have been arrests made by now and faceless republicrats are hiding under their beds.

the media are just as responsible for the damage to this country as this admin is.
Ever since he came on the scene back at the rat convention they have covered for him and will continue to do so as they have invested a lot of time and money into him

it’s sickening seeing the media in action and I hope there will be an investigation into how the white house and the media have connected to each other

Of course he knew about it. He was likely wheeling and dealing either directly or via intermediaries.

"Lawyers in the White House and others have looked into conversations that were had with Congressman Sestak, and nothing inappropriate happened," he said.

Oh, well, then. If lawyers for OBAMA say that Obama did nothing wrong, then OBVIOULSY there is nothing to see here...

If we had Republicans with spines in Washington, I don't think we would have ever lost control of Congress to the extent we did. We DESPERATELY need NEW Republicans. Even if we retake both houses in November, if it's the same old bunch of self-serving, spineless wimps we have right now, expect very little change.

I don’t understand how this makes it illegal for Obama to offer a job. It just says it’s illegal to solicit or receive. Which meant Sestak couldn’t tell Obama he’d withdrawl if Obama gave him a public job.

This actually is the better law that would make it illegal. The other law listed appears to make it illegal for Sestak to ask for something but not for someone to offer it.

The only issue with the law you cited is the following:
++++++++++++++++
(1) directly or indirectly, corruptly gives, offers or promises
anything of value to any public official or person who has been
selected to be a public official, or offers or promises any
public official or any person who has been selected to be a
public official to give anything of value to any other person or
entity, with intent -
++++++++++

Is Sestak a public official when he’s running in the democrat primary? It would appear one would have to win the election in November before this law would apply.

I honestly think they are getting the message. Senator “Get Along” Bennett is history. Milk Toast Mitch McConnell got a taste of crow pie with our wonder Rand Paul victory. John M cAmnesty is screaming how he wants to close the borders. Lindsey Gramnesty is totally marginalized. Hillary will resign as Sec of State effective Jan 1 and will run against this horrible president. The Blacks will riot when she wins and the Dems will implode. This is our chance to conservatize the party and win the presidency with a real conservative.

You're right. 0b0z0 the commie pig has two advantages that will forever give him advantages over any issue or opponent....

1) He's black (his white 1/2 doesn't count)

2) He's a liberal socialist commie pig. Left wing ideology & agenda trumps everything else. The fact that he's black on top of being a liberal socialist is just icing on the cake. It allows the dems & media to play the racist card, whenever they need to batten down or strike back at the opposition.

I agree, there some vagueness in the law, and this is something that a court would have to decide.

Since Sestak is a sitting member of the House, he is clearly a public official, and will be until January when he will either leave office (if he loses to Toomey) or become a senator (if he wins).

The question is whether his decision to run or not to run for another office would be considered an official act under the law.

“(3) the term “official act” means any decision or action on any question, matter, cause, suit, proceeding or controversy, which may at any time be pending, or which may by law be brought before any public official, in such official’s official capacity, or in such official’s place of trust or profit.”

I’m not a lawyer, so I can’t make a judgment on this question. I’m sure Mark Levin’s comments would be very interesting.
