Tea Party Signs a la Burma Shave
5/22/2010 | Bhoy

For Tea Party demos along streets & highways it might be effective to space ourselves like Burma Shave signs. Takes 4 -- 3 with the lines 1 with the punch line: Tea Party. Some samples follow.

At one of these events a guy who'd worked with the city traffic planners pointed out the things to look for: where the freeway exits were & how long the cars had to wait at intersections.

Great idea, but beware of sign ordinances. The ruling class will stop at nothing to remove signs that tell the truth.

“D.C. Pols Are Smug and Farty

Come Join Us, We’re Strong & Hearty

Taxes the Size of Billy Barty

That’d Be US! The TEA PARTY “

Having been a personal friend to Barty, I can tell you he would have loved this!

LOL!

If "tax and spend"
Works so damn well
Then why's our nation
Goin' to Hell?

Best one so far!! Absolutely love it!

This is the best, most creative thread on FR in a good long while, I hope y'all keep it up.

I've been working on my sign (4x8 plywood sign) for my front yard, I think I'm going to have to take your words and use them instead.

Very well done!

I grew up reading these signs along along America’s highways — the last sign simply said, “BURMA SHAVE:,

Here is an example of what one might have seen:

It makes much sense,

don’t wonder why,

Spare the creame

and spoil the guy

BURMA SHAVE!

My favorite real Burma-Shave sign:
Past the Schoolhouse
Take it slow
Let the little
shavers grow
Burma-Shave

Here's one they turned down as "too racy" - ah, the simpler days.
Listen birds
These signs cost money
So roost a while
But don't get funny
