USAF F-22A Raptor Thought of the Day
From the February 21, 2007 article "Raptors wield 'unfair' advantage at Red Flag" by Tech. Sgt. Russell Wicke
http://www.acc.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123041831

When the Raptor finds itself in a dogfight, it is no longer beyond visual range, but the advantage of stealth isn't diminished. It maintains "high ground" even at close range. "I can't see the [expletive deleted] thing," said RAAF Squadron Leader Stephen Chappell, exchange F-15 pilot in the 65th Aggressor Squadron. "It won't let me put a weapons system on it, even when I can see it visually through the canopy. [Flying against the F-22] annoys the hell out of me." Lt. Col. Larry Bruce, 65th AS commander, admits flying against the Raptor is a very frustrating experience. Reluctantly, he admitted "it's humbling to fly against the F-22," - humbling, not only because of its stealth, but also its unmatched maneuverability and power.

Which is exactly why the obamanation cut the program.

Too much of a threat to his buddies, too.

They are beautiful aren’t they? Thanks for the post.

America, what a country! Or was......

Who else could do this? We’re the real deal when the Dims and the commie/socialists/lefties/traitors get out of the way.

Perhaps we will be again someday after the Kenyan and the Dim Dhims are gone and if we survive “The Won” and his treasonous cohorts and henchmen/women.

And to think that these deadly planes could some day be flown by pilots who are members of the ROP.

There is a lien on the title to those ‘babies”. I have a hard time appreciating the weapons of war we can’t pay for and will never use for war.

We don’t have many of these magnificent planes, and we’re not getting any more. The F-22 has been cut from the budget.

Get to the voting polls in November and vote the bastards out so we can control our borders and quit spending billions on illegals in this country. We will then have enough money for a few more F-22s. BTW, that will also help us return to a constitutional democracy.

Since you are having a “hard time” appreciating these F-22s then maybe you can appreciate the fact that the Russian answer to the F-22, the T-50, is now undergoing testing as the Russians work overtime to overcome the advantage these babies give the United States.

Air superiority is vital, and giving it up is weakness that is going to invite aggression.

We depend on air superiority for the success of our armed forces. For our ground troops, our ships at sea, and nearly every single thing you can relate to, air superiority is key.

We have been spoiled, because we have had adults in charge most of the time who understood this necessity, and worked towards maintaining it. We have had air superiority in every single engagement of any kind from the end of WWII up until today.

If we do not maintain control of the skies and cede that to our next enemy, we will see American blood shed in ways we have not seen since WWII.

We won’t be able to supply and transport our troops by air. Helicopters are sitting ducks for the enemy if they control the air. We won’t even be able to medevac.

Our supply columns will be destroyed, as will our tank formations. Our ships at sea will suffer the same fate.

In the same way that nearly the entire food chain from livestock down to corn is dependent on water, military power is dependent on air power. Without it, you cannot have and project military power.

It is really that simple, and it is why we must buy more F-22s and F-35’s. But we know that isn’t going to happen, the same way we know that transiting this economic and leadership crisis unscathed isn’t going to happen.

All 183 of them. Which is where production will end. Unless we replace Congress and The Won, in which case, like the B-1, there might be more of a undated version, someday.

Yes. I agree. I would rather spend my money on these than Turkey Basters for Lesbian, midnight basketball, PBS, NPR or healthcare for union thugs.

I was at the Boston Tea Party rally when Sarah Palin was there, and was being pestered by moonbats, one who was really trying to pick a physical fight with me. I was carrying, and had made up my mind I was going to avoid a confrontation at all costs even when the guy called me a “F*cking pussy”. That was damned tough.

But there were a few others who were trying to actually talk to me, and one of them said “Why do you oppose healthcare when we would get somthing for it rather than our military being in the Middle East?” and I told him: “I would much rather spend my money on our forces overseas, because I get something tangible out of that, fighting people who want to see us dead and doing on their turf instead of coming over here to do it.”

So he tried a different approach and said: “Wouldn’t you rather have money spent on health care for your fellow citizens than to kill women and children in Afghanistan and Iraq?”

When he said that I said “Okay. Look. I am not interested in talking to you. If you frame your argument with your moonbat belief that our military is out there indiscriminately killing women and children, then we are done here.”

I detest liberals and liberalism...

I see this as a “good debt” vs “bad debt”. Good debt is used to keep your family safe and warm. Bad debt is debt on something that becomes worth less than you owe very quickly.

These babies make me feel safe and warm.

Who owns them. Well China holds the note. We can keep them as long as we make payments on time. If we’re late more than two months the account will be sent to collections.
