RE “
The decision on whether to support or oppose the law can have almost immediate political consequences. The latest evidence may be Meg Whitmans declining fortunes. For months, Ms. Whitman, the former chief executive of eBay, enjoyed a substantial lead over her principal rival for the Republican nomination for governor of California, Steve Poizner. But in recent weeks, she has seen her advantage slip significantly, in no small part because Mr. Poizner has hammered her on her opposition to the Arizona law.”
This sounds like the Arizona law is a winner.

We may pass even more, depending on the sleazyness of the Fed.

A substantial percentage of legal Latinos (ie Hispanics) like myself See, here is the problem, Cacique. I'll buy you a beer anytime because you are an American. But I am not a Latino, I am Western European. I never bring that up in conversation because it is not relevant, we being both Americans. So when you bring it up, it divides us. Now I don't want to buy you a beer because I am not sure you share American values. You do, of course, but it is just too much trouble for me to diffrentiate you from other Latinos. Please, and sincerely, can't we just be Americans? We are both proud of our heritage but being an American should trump all. It'll get a you a beer, anyway. (;-))

I am simply pointing out the fallacy perpetrated by the MSM, dimwit party and RINO faction of the GOP that all hispanics support amnesty and open borders when the opposite is true.

This is not my issue.
There are others who are closer to the problem and have very legitimate grievances. I will back them or stay out unless it turns racist. If it does, I will be in swinging.
With that in mind, go and do what you need to do. After the initial tumult, the issue will fade to background. Then I, and others like me, will be in to repair whatever needs repairing.
Vaya con Dios.

How do we get rid of the stupid GOPers? If they would grow half the backbone of Michelle Bachmann and Eric Cantor, they would win. Too many McCain's.
Note--AL's Jeff Sessijons was on the news and Greta tonight speaking against the ICE Dir who says he just may not take any illegals from AZ. Go Jeff!

True, but can't you do that without putting in a extraneous comment about your background? It's like a woman writing that, 'Speaking as a woman'.... Like with a name like Jane what else would she be speaking as being? It adds nothing to the conversation. Maybe I am the only one that notices this or is bothered by it, I mention it only for you to think about.

Racial nationalism aka racism. Disguised as ‘pride’.

Cantor is part of the problem. I have spoken to him a number of times on this issue. He is part of the GOP leadership in the House. They are bought and paid for by the Chamber of Commerce.
