Goddard is a big doofus just like the rest of the politicians in his family. Anyone who likes Obama will absolutely love Goddard.

This woman stuck her head into a buzz saw and hasn’t backed off. The GOP has few enough in its leadership willing to put themselves on the line. She earned support by this action and she should get it. She may not be perfect but she is a damn sight better than some of the gutless RINOs that infest the party. More power to her.

What about her primaries? That’s what matters, that’s when we can kick this tax and spender out and not just replace her with another. I’m sure she’s pretty happy though, got her tax increase.

The state is broke. How would any conduct this fight without money?

Maybe you have suggestions though you can make.

Well she could have cut spending when she first got into office like she was advised to. And she could also look at the Laffer Curve and understand that it’s pretty rare for tax increases to result in revenue increases, especially when those tax increases happen in a recession which is why your tax revenues are down in the first place.

She’s a tax and spend liberal, don’t let her rubber stamping what the state legislature puts in front of her fool you. She’s a RINO who painted herself into a corner so deep that in March she was polling in a 3 way tie for the primaries. She’s now towing the party line to avoid the embarrassment of getting crushed in the primaries. But if she actually manages to get elected she’ll go right back to raising taxes and spending.

No she didn’t. Not when she was advised to, and not the cuts she was advised to make. She’s a tax and spend lib.

They’ve cut 2 bil from the state budget in the last two years.

Now a state legislator is talking about locking up all the illegals and keeping them in jail until the feds come and get them.

How is AZ gonna afford that?

She refused to make the cuts when advised, calling the comptroller a chicken little. And that caused over spending, then finally, TOO LATE she allowed a FRACTION of the cuts advised and DEMANDED a tax increase.

She needs to make more cuts. Maybe signing off on the budget she was handed would be a good start. Instead she’s raising taxes, in a recession, which will result in a revenue DECREASE like it always does. Stop believing her lies. She’s a no good tax and spender, who got her tax increase (which remember is earmarked for paying off debt, not actually for new spending) by threatening the education budget, again.

They’ve balanced the budget. What’s the problem?

No they did not balance the budget. They’re still 4.5 BILLION short. The legislature had a budget that would have balanced presented, but it didn’t include Jan’s precious tax increase so she refused to sign, forcing a government shutdown while she held out.

“They’re still 4.5 BILLION short...”

I’m not seeing a time structure in the articles, but they are saying that even with the project (which won’t happen) nearly 1 billion from the tax increase the budget will still be 2.2 billion short.

Jan needs to face reality, the state’s lost 1/3 of the revenue and she would only sign off on a 20% spending cut, and that under duress. But of course facing reality didn’t give her a tax hike, and she really wanted a tax hike.
