Republican U.S. Senate candidate Chuck DeVore made sure that the June 8 ballot described him as "Assemblyman/Military Reservist" because, the Irvine lawmaker said, he didn't want to be mistaken for just another politician.
Throughout the campaign, DeVore has emphasized his service as a military officer and a young Reagan White House appointee at the Pentagon as experiences that helped make him the most qualified candidate. But at times he appears to have overstated those accomplishments, particularly his experience under fire and his role in the development of a U.S.-Israeli anti-ballistic-missile defense program. He also has faced criticism for acting on behalf of a group with ties to political contributors. ...
He spoke during the debate of being "shot at in Lebanon" but did not make clear that the shooting occurred in the 1980s while DeVore was a college student studying Arabic and other subjects in the Middle East. Nor did he note that while the shooting was in his vicinity, there was no indication he was a target or was in actual danger.

Im a little funny that way.
In other words, you’re honest.
Spot on.
The most disgusting of lies - to paint themselves with false valor -
POINT IT OUT
Drag out the GOP CIRCULAR FIRING SQUAD.
I want 2 more corroborating sources before I’ll believe the MSM ...period
There is no lie except the attempt to suggest DeVore inflated his service which he never has. They want to go this route to try to destory this good man and it is despicable.
It really is. This is the poorest piece of BS writing I’ve seen in a while. Incredibly dishonest.
Ditto ...this “””””article””””” looks more like a Daily KOOKS blog response than a news article.
But, there are always those among us that are More than Happy to Shoot ourselves in the Foot..
That is ABSOLUTELY TRUE.
I hope the DeVore campaign can rebut these charges, because if they can't this guy is even less like to have a chance than he was.
I do know that if something doesn't change, Tom Campbell will be the GOP nominee and that would be wholesale disaster.
From what I know, I would agree with you, pissant. Although, I have to say the debates on FR lately are generating a whole lot more heat than light.
Mark Levin had him on the air tonight and Mark PRAISED the guy , said he is the real deal. That;s good enough for me
We’re doing EXACTLY what the LA TIMES tried to accomplish with this article. Hope yall happy .
Ok, we are at post 50 now, could someone please post the quote where he inflated or lied about something? Thanks.
I didn't do a damn thing but sit on a Pershing Missile site.
If I EVER claim to have been shot at in the military I hope someone kicks my ass.
BTW I have been shot at a few times, but never in the service. The oilfield can be a dangerous place!!
It is just the kind of thing that they’d run on MSNBC. Fiorina and Campbell are running commercials and sending out mailers suggesting that people that have endorsed Chuck DeVore are supporting them. Such a shameless couple those two are. They represent the two ends of the problem in Washington, big money empty suits in it for power, and Berkley Professor types more caught up in theory and identity politics than respect for the citizen.
The story confirms that he was shot at. When else would he have been shot at in Lebanon other than the 80s? This is some standard the LA Times has for politicians now. Full and absolute disclosure when making a comment about something that actually happened. The irony is that he was a REPORTER. The press loves reporters who "bravely put themselves in harm's way for the truth".
Words games aside, it appears that the Arrow funding was his idea and that it was successfully funded, quite an accomplishment for a 25 year old working at the Pentagon.
I gotta start watching more debates. I didn't know they were so much fun.
There is nothing to rebut, other than a bunch of leftist hyperbole. WHere is his LIE, dammit!
This is pretty shameful bit of reporting.Hell no. LATimes is being shot at by its creditors, and Fiorina just threw $1.2M extra into her desperate attempt to disperse the conservative vote to Statist benefit. You can't expect the Slimes to turn down the proposition that produced this hit piece. Get real! /s
The LA Slimes??
