Beware Rand Paul and Sarah Palin [Finally their fear shows it's real face]
The Progressive ^ | May 20, 2010 | Matthew Rothschild, Editor

Posted on 05/20/2010 3:08:13 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

I’m worried about Rand Paul, Sarah Palin, and the tea party movement.

Rand Paul was correct in his victory speech: His victory was a victory for that movement, and it’s not going away.

It’s also larger than a lot of progressives want to believe.

And those progressives who cheer the takeover of the Republican Party by the tea partiers, seeing in it a recipe for electoral victory for Democrats in 2012, may be making a tragic error.

Rand Paul wasn’t the only tea party candidate who won on Thursday. Sarah Palin was also victorious. She endorsed Rand Paul early, and shrewdly invested in the race.

After Paul’s victory, it’s more likely than ever that Sarah Palin will be the nominee in 2012. And then anything can happen. Including her winning the White House.

Especially after the Supreme Court’s decision in Citizens United, which will let corporate America pour billions into the election.

Rand Paul foreshadowed one ad that these corporate dollars are likely to buy: an ad that claims Obama is betraying America. “We now have,” Paul said, “a President who apologizes for America’s greatness.”

Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Mitt Romney, Liz Cheney, and Palin herself have uttered similar slurs against Obama.

This tag, more than health care, more than the deficit, may be what ultimately costs Obama.

So don’t take comfort in the craziness of Rand Paul, or the zaniness of Sarah Palin.

Watch out for them.

I'd say y’ better be careful of the libs, envirowhackos commies and racists who, having gotten a taste of running the show, will have few trepidations justify egregious means to satisfy whatever ends; to wit: if they can't have ‘her’, nobody will...so to speak.

That is not to say all is lost when they vacate the offices and ‘break the furniture’ [all over the nation], but there’ll be some blood in the streets. And the more, from their POV, the better. History. These guys and gals aren't gonna play nice n’ democratic-like, submit to the vote, and walk away like ladies and gents.

Just sayin’.

To be honest many prominent evangelicals like Richard Land of the SBC have lashed out against the Tea Party movement for being too “libertarian” in its emphasis on fiscal issues and in their words completely ignoring social issues.

"You want to give money to someone why?

For what?

You can't be that ignorant, can you? I will raise $2 million dollars for Governor Sarah Palin if she runs for the presidency. How much will you raise for Mr. Obama this time around?

I am hoping that not everyone who participates in tea parties realizes the extent of lie-bertarian influence, but therein lies my sadness.

I am a patriot and the lie-bertarian beliefs are way too shallow for me. And I think they are a danger to this country and what we stand for, with their isolationist position and general desire for liberty without responsibility. I am worried by their anti-Semitism, which in my view is profoundly un-American, as well as their weak approach to immigration law and support for abortion.

Most of all, I believe the lie-bertarian movement exists mainly to dismantle our military. All their bleating about “fiscal responsibility” is aimed at reducing the DOD.

Therefore, I find it strange that Palin allies with them.

I just don't see this happening. I could be wrong.

I'll raise my middle finger for him.

But back to the point.. Mrs. Palin has not declared any candidacy.

What will you do with all these millions of dollars?

If she doesn’t declare, there’ll be no millions. Problem solved, huh?

The Tea Party is not just....errrr...lie-bertarians. It is Republicans, Democrats and Independents. The marxists and progressives, entrenched with their democrat and rino friends in DC are already dismantling the military. It's time to choose and find out who is who. I'm for kicking every one of these 30 year politicians into the unemployment line.

Rand Paul proves wants they’ve been privately fearing or have just been too afraid to admit about Palin: you can belittle and attempt to marginalize someone, but if you’re not successful, there comes a tipping point where you’re the one who’ll be marginalized.

What "rino friends" are you talking about? Republicans are overwhelmingly pro-military. You like to throw in the RINO label in order to attack the GOP, typical for lie-bertarians.

And, thank you for admitting that "Democrats and Independents" round out the composition of the Tea Parties. Just another reason I'm glad I never joined. What on earth would I have in common with them?

I raised over $40,000 for Fred Thompson in the short time he was in the race and hundreds of thousands for the GOP back in the 1980’s, so no monkeys will be harmed. Just because you think something is impossible doesn’t make it so.
