This is an overwhelming tragedy for the people of the Gulf states. I hate to think of how many folks will be losing their livelihood over this.

Maybe the Brits have conquered us after all.

I’ve looked and looked and there is no mention of trains. Am I missing something?

Can anyone tell me why we are not spreading hay over the oil BEFORE it hits shores? It sticks to it and always easy pick up. Of course hay will be sky high in the fall an winter but it will make clean up easy and result in a usable fuel. The tree huggers should be clamoring for it. The proposal has been made to the gubment who just watches it get closer. Hmmm, maybe that IS the plan.

I thought I has read earlier reports that the ‘blob’ was out at sea......being tracked by a submarine because it was ‘frozen’?

I read a report that someone was recommending peat moss.

The libs will be celebrating tonight.

Hopefully those celebrating in LA will have their power turned off by AZ. Then they can see what life is like without oil and other sources of energy. (Smile).

First sentence:

(Reuters) - The first heavy oil from a giant Gulf of Mexico spill

You'd better appreciate that, that's more HTML than I want to do in one day.

Indeed. Remember when we had to do everything in HTML here? Sure glad for the updates.

I saw a video of how well Hay works in collecting the oil, and it looks to be a great strategy. In their not using it, you almost wonder if they WANT this to be worse than it has to be!

Here’s a demonstration:

Because of the spill, Dems and the Administration ban all offshore drilling...price of gasoline goes higher and higher...and everyone starts riding the train!

The hay thing is interesting... but you also have to understand that it isn’t always so simple. For one thing... the quantity of hay required to cover many hundreds of square miles of ocean would pretty much wipe out the hay supply in the U.S., if not the world. People that own horses might have a problem with that...

It still would be of good use in localized areas like marches or beaches.

Once the oil is collected what is done with it? Can it still be used for anything? You know the mania for recycling, maybe it will still have some useful purpose.
