BO/BS is the best spokesperson for the Conservative cause. Keep talking BO/BS!
Specter overstayed his welcome by about 2 terms.
Lets see ...
Gov. Jon Corzine’s re-election bid in New Jersey,
Creigh Deeds’ run for governor in Virginia,
Martha Coakley’s campaign in Massachusetts,
and now Arlen Specter in Pennsylvania.
maybe I missed a few but me thinks the Prez DOESN’T have the winning touch!
Who is next? Ah, Sen. Blanche Lincoln in Arkansas?
How does it work with Rep. Sestak in Pennsylvania? Was that reverse roundhouse or a slider? Hows that work Mr Prez?
Funny, I’m not sad.
Anyway, it’s a strange thing that happens when a Congress person or a Senator is continually reelected, they tend to think it’s all about them, versus the voters - their positions or issues, their priorities. This happened to Specter, big time and at the end, he looked like a fool.

All in all, it was a great night for Democrats. The voters of PA will have the opportunity to elect a US Navy Admiral to the US Senate. Rep. Murtha's seat stays Democratic. The Pubbies in Kentucky selected an ultra far right wacko, Rand Paul, to run for the Senate, despite all the work of McConnell and Karl Rove who campaigned for his opponent. There isn't enough wallpaper in the state to paper over that split. Yes indeed, it is a great time to be a Democrat.
These people are delusional.

Hopefully we can add Sen. Barbara Boxer of CA to that list.
It's Two-Fer. We got rid of Specter, and now we'll get rid of Sestak!............
It’s funny I thought I read where the white House tried to get rid of him by offering him an Administration job. That ‘back-fired’ and now he is in the race for November.
Makes me wonder if the WH or the Dem Party thinks they can control him.
Listened to Neal Boortz today and a caller said (2nd hand info) that Sestak was in favor of the FairTax. Guess that too (if true) would draw the ire of the Party honchos.
As I said in another thread, most politicians do develop a contempt for the people who voted for them, only they try to hide it. Specter’s contempt became blatantly obvious, especially in the last few years, and that was probably one of many reasons why the voters abandoned him.
Two terms?
Much longer than that.
Stuck on stupid....but the people are getting smarter!
????????????
I am GLAD the serial political career criminal is finished. I hope others follow. Aside from his duplicitous politics, he made a career of sucking off the public for far too long. Too old, too liberal, too duplicitous and in office for far too long.
He was a disingenuous, nasty, vicious, sexist charlatan and he masqueraded as a Republican for far too long.
Like he’s old and tired.
Ironically, Specter did provide some insight into how detached a long-term incumbent becomes from the voters. The simply fact that he changed parties and voted for health care - and expected to be reelected by the his new democrap party is really a stretch and only about him, not the voters.
I’m thinking that the long timers should go sooner, perhaps when the current election cycle appears to be their last - don’t reelect them from either party - in the case of a Senator the last 7 years can be unbearable for the voters.
I don’t know how its working out for Sphincter, but its working out GREAT for me...
You’re cruel. Were they courteous and understanding in their reply or did they use 4-letter words?
