The two stories are kind of related, yet both covering a different aspect of the same problem.
I got an early start this morning, now I need to head off to work.

Those who support “open borders” with Mexico are promoting this kind of abuse of the illegal immigrants.
Shut down the border, build a good fence,
and the incidents of rape by the coyotes
will dramatically decline.
Saw a great clip on the Los Angeles local news last night....they interviewed an official from the Arizona energy utility that provides 25% of the electricity for Los Angeles.
He suggested that if asswipes (my word, not his) like LA mayor Villaraigosa and the idiots on the LA city council want to boycott AZ, they might regret the repercussions...i.e. higher electricity rates for all of Los Angeles.
I would LOVE to see that happen.
Don’t expect any light to dawn on the part of the left. They’ll say that this is our fault because we have closed the more accessible parts of the border and are thus forcing people to enter the country through the desert. Their main thesis is that the U.S., through it’s policies towards Mexico, is actually forcing Mexican citizens to leave their country and come to the U.S. illegally. We, in fact, in their viewpoint, are completely responsible for this. Neither Mexico nor the illegal aliens bear responsibility.
Just think. If this ENVIRONMENTAL havoc wrought on the desert had been committed by an “evil, money grubbing, profit seeking, uncaring AMERICAN business”, the entire weight of the Enviro-kooks would have come down like an avalanche.
If you spill a coffee cup of OIL on that desert, you are in jail...period.
But ANY action by illegals seems to be tolerated, welcomed, excused, ignored, and alibied.
