Much as I despise Sphincter, this isn’t good news at all. Toomey would have crushed him...against Sestak, it’s 50/50.

In Pennsylvania Independents were not allowed to vote in the primary. Something to boost your hopes.

Agree.

If Snarlin' had won, Toomey would have coasted to victory in Nov.

Now I'd say Sestack is the favorite to win in Nov by 53-47. I sure hope Toomey can beat down that leftwing socialist - time is running out if America is to survive.

.....What are the laws in PA about that?.....

The Scottish rules governing Barons and Earls allows those descending to run forever as long as the money holds out.

Couldn’t get the Philly vote out....? Someone closed down voter fraud....ACORN?

The Dems could not be bothered to commit vote fraud for Specter. They knew Sestak would do better in November.

C'mon Arlen. You were stupid enough to trust the Dem party to back you up?

As one who lives in a bluer than blue state, I understand being dubious. There is no hope where I come from.

Happy to see him go, but concerned that a Toomey Sestak race will be a lot tougher.

I've been reading many comments along the lines of yours, above.

While it may be true that Sestak will be harder to beat than Arlen would have been, for the moment I want to exult in the joy. Besides, I don't know whether the popular wisdom Stestak/Arlen match up against Toomey is true. A lot of folks are voting Dem/Repub in the general election. You get your real voters on a revenge mission in the primaries.

Whatever the case, and I'm not from Pennsylvania but live nearby, imagine what last night was like for Arlen.

Here's an extremely, EXTREMELY, nasty man, who has spent the most recent part of his life being especially nasty.

He's been nasty, disloyal and as always, for himself first and always.

He's flipped the Republicans the bird so many times and in the end he betrayed the pubs even though he had Dubya and others out pushing his election and we all paid a price but daggone Arlen won...Arlen won!

So I'm taking joy that somewhere on the planet, someone got what was coming to him. I hope ole Arlen tossed and turned last night and he will live his days in ignomy....REJECTED BY BOTH PARTIES!

I agree with you.

Even if it makes it harder for us to win in the future, it’s now 100% certain that CREEP will be out of office (and I AM from Pennsylvania, so I have a personal stake in this).

Did anyone read this paragraph from the NY Daily News report?

“Still, there are worse things imaginable than running against a chamber run by Republicans - ask Bill Clinton in 1996. That might force Obama’s restless left wing to move to the middle, uniting the party against the GOP’s common evil.”

.... COMMON EVIL?! Did I read that right? Boy. The Socialists in the media sure aren’t even bothering to cover their tracks anymore, are they?

I feel no sadness and no pity for him. Fossil incumbents never retire gracefully and Snarlin was in it for himself.

What's more he's going to be very lonely for the remainder of his term in Washington. Arlen will be shunned ... he's damaged goods ... will give new meaning to the term 'lame duck'.

Does Pennsylvania have open or closed primaries? If open, I might pass up the chance of voting for Toomey in the primary just for the pleasure of voting against Specter. Actually, I WOULD - no ‘might’ about it.

I hope Arlen throws a hissy by voting against the Democrats over the next few months.

Rather, he’ll probably use his vote as leverage with the administration to gain a cabinet position or ambassadorship or some such.

Yeah it feels sweet. But in terms of actually getting an R in the seat it’s a negative. Everytime a Rat incumbent quits, it gives them another chance to put someone who can fake their real intentions in the race.

Not wrong at all Brother Hale, and certainly not mean.

We ALL hope to outlive the traitors among us and to see them brought low as they so rightly deserve.

Now what would be wrong would be to start making comments about “where’s James Earl Ray when you really need him?” which is something I would never do, because that could be construed as a threat against Comrade 0bama, and no responsible FReeper would make such a statement, not you, not I, or anyone.

All we really want to see is the Pretenda from Kenya exposed as the monumental fraud and con man that he is, and run out of town on a rail. May he live as long as Jimmy Carter, for both are worthy of being ridiculed and held up as an object of scorn for the rest of their oxygen breathing days.
