President Obama today signed into law The Daniel Pearl Freedom of Press Act, which expands efforts to identify countries that dont share our love for the First Amendment. He also took time to honor the man the bill is named after, journalist Daniel Pearl, who was kidnapped and beheaded by Islamic extremists in 2002 in what the President with nary a teleprompter in sight called a moment that captured the worlds imagination. The Obama administration has pushed to have Pearls professed killer, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, tried in civilian court.

Unbelievable. Anybody who could describe a beheading as ‘capturing the world’s imagination’ has to have their sanity questioned.
The fact that the President of the United States said it simply defies belief.

What an idiot he is. I can’t stand the man. Without a teleprompter is right! It would have said “captured the ATTENTION” of the world. What a duncehead.

Maybe he did intend to say “imagination.” After all, imagination implies that something is not real. He would like to believe that and promote that thought concerning his muslim friends.

Wow..."captured the world's imagination" not exactly the words I would have used to describe an American's head being cut off, but...

I cant believe that a Harvard grad cant string a sentence together unless its written down and projected in letters 2 feet high. Oh, I sure can. Ivy League schools are among the most overrated institutions on the planet.
In fact, in my line of work my standard practice is to discard resumes from Ivy League grads looking for positions in my firm. I've never met one who impressed me, which is comical when you consider how much it costs to attend those places.

yes, there was a lot of imagination in to his death. That was the important part of terror. The imagination.
the fear of you being the victim. There is no other way of looking at this that I can think of. Obama just proven he can see eye-to-eye with Islamic extremist.

President Obama didn’t really use that phrase, did he? Oh my. I could believe the Vice President did, but the President?!? Oh dear. The poor family - although I’m assuming they are ardent supporters, so they probably won’t take it to heart.

Seriously, his take on this leaves me with the impression that he reduced the effect of the slow decapitation; it was not horrific to him. At lease the French were quick in their executions.
