NEW YORK (CBS/AP) John Travolta's two family dogs were killed after being struck by an airport service vehicle at Maine's Bangor International Airport.
This event comes a little more than a year after Travolta and his wife, actress Kelly Preston, lost their son, Jett, who died after suffering from a seizure while vacationing with them in the Bahamas.
In a statement released to the Bangor Daily News, city officials said, "An airport service pickup truck was approaching the airplane to service the airplane and did not see the dogs. Unfortunately, the dogs were struck and killed. The airport is investigating the accident. Out of respect for the family's privacy the city will make no further comment."

Yeesh... the more people I meet, the better I like my dog.
Xenu disagrees.
I bet he was thinking if he took them out on a leash, he would have to clean up after them...and if he let them run loose, he could pretend he never saw them leaving fresh patties on the tarmac. People do stupid things for a reason.
I hope you don’t mean that, I love my dogs and I’ve lost dogs I loved over the years, but nothing compares to the pain I’ve suffered since losing my husband last October...so all I can say is if you truly mean that you are married to the wrong man.
The dogs WERE being walked on a leash when they were run over and killed... so are you saying they should have been running loose or are you unsuccessfully trying to be funny?
In order to fly your dog it would have to be either an airdale or a bird dog. lol

Xenu's fault!
Nice! Big grin!!
I really enjoyed your post. It’s apparently a difficult concept for people who don’t love companion animals to understand. I’m more attached to my dog than I am to most people. Yet, if there was a burning building and my dog was in the building along with a random stranger, and I had only one opportunity to enter the building and make a rescue, I would rescue the random stranger without hesitation. That, even though I love my dog beyond reason.
Probably no dog carriers/containers involved...Travolta owns/flys his own 707...dogs probably have free run in the cabin! Wonder if he lands for dog “potty breaks”?
They have my sympathy.
Well said.
But with amputated legs........
Well I am not christian - you assume too much from your high and mighty stool.
Someone is trying to get their attention.
I’m sitting in a chair, not a stool. As for you being Christian, I sincerely don’t care if you are or not a Christian.
It neither breaks my back or picks my pocket. I was commenting to the fella who said that Scientology was what was causing this run of bad fortune. As a Christian, I pointed out that being a Christian generally draws the wrong kind of spiritual attention, and as a test, your life gets worse not better.
Christians, in general, are saved, not perfect. To the very last one, Christians are unworthy of salvation. If you were an asshole prior to being saved, there’s a likelihood you’ll remain an asshole. In the Christian faith, that asshole would also be saved.
So there you go.
So CBS is equating the death of their child with their loss of a couple of dogs?
Some will reason that if he didn’t fly his own plane, his dogs would still be alive.
Were they in a crate? Running loose?
From an AP story..."A spokesman for John Travolta says the actor's two dogs were leashed when they were run over and killed at Maine's Bangor International Airport."
I'm calling this B.S.. I bet the dogs were loose and were chasing the truck as it arrived. If I am wrong and they were on a leash, the person walking them had no business being outside of the plane much less walking dogs around any kind of traffic. This happened at Bangor International Airport, not at the Bugtussel Crop Dusting Runway.
It’s a darned shame for the dogs, but let’s be real, it’s not like the airport service truck sees dogs on the airport grounds everyday. Sometimes you’re just surprised by what you see due to the context of the situation.
So is this A) part of the Travolta family curse or B) related to the fact that his wife went to school with Obama or C) just bad luck?
