NEW YORK (CBS/AP) John Travolta's two family dogs were killed after being struck by an airport service vehicle at Maine's Bangor International Airport.
This event comes a little more than a year after Travolta and his wife, actress Kelly Preston, lost their son, Jett, who died after suffering from a seizure while vacationing with them in the Bahamas.
In a statement released to the Bangor Daily News, city officials said, "An airport service pickup truck was approaching the airplane to service the airplane and did not see the dogs. Unfortunately, the dogs were struck and killed. The airport is investigating the accident. Out of respect for the family's privacy the city will make no further comment."

Like I said, obtuse.
The mention of their son is to show that the family is already dealing with a recent loss.
You quoted the story and wrote:

(you:)
So CBS is equating the death of their child with their loss of a couple of dogs?
You read the CBS line above and wrote the question that isn’t really a question, because nowhere from that line of the story can anyone logically draw that conclusion.
If you really meant it as a question, just exactly how am I supposed to disagree with a question? You meant it that you believe CBS IS equating it. That’s the only way you can say someone ‘disagrees’ with you - by disagreeing with a statement or belief you make, not a question you pose. By saying I disagree with you, you just proved your question wasn’t really a question. It’s your belief they equated the two (and they did not, that’s your bias).
Just damn!
Poor Travolta and his wife have had such an awful series of tragedies.
My prayers are with them and their surviving child.
You have great kids.
Dittos from me.
Dogs on the tarmac area (pickup was servicing their plane) is just a stupid idea.
From a genera aviation's pilot's comments on the one FBO (Fixed Base Operator) at Bangor.
“Used BGR twice recently in our Challenger. The staff there were very nice and try to help, the policies put down by the city are terrible. The “FBO” (its not a real FBO) is run by the city and it seems that the city could care less about repeat business; they just want the money from the airplanes. We needed newspapers. They had the local newspaper and the Wall Street Journal, thats it. No USA Today or anything else. Seems that if the newsstand at the terminal does not carry the paper, that the FBO will not get them for you. Crew car so that we could get lunch or get papers? Do not even ask. Rental cars? Did you order one in advance? If not then there is a good chance none are available. We were able to find someone who was nice enough to give us a ride to town to pick up newspapers and food for the crew. Best thing that could ever happen to aviation in Bangor is to have an independent FBO open up on the airport to provide some service and competition to what is there now”
There is only one tarmac area he could have used, the rest is an airline terminal ramp ad an ANG area.

Exactly.
It’s apparent that some people on this thread have been lucky enough never to have suffered a personal tragedy—yet.
They have to grow up—and it may be the hard way.
Cut that out. The text on the screen is getting blurry and it’s your fault, dag nab it.
And you think Christianity is the road to an easy, sunny, trouble-free life?
I’m looking around that the crap my Christian friends are taking and figuring the Devil is having a high time right now.
Your life may just get worse with a big target on your back after accepting Christ.
My heart goes out to John and his family. Remember too the exploitive jerks that tried to screw with him and his wife after Jet's death. I wouldn't wish their suffering on any human no matter how much I despised them. Ever. Prayers to the Travolta family.
Did you find this bit of information in breaking news?
I don't care if their inferior....I don't see humans being superior to much of anything...
In fact, the more people I meet, the more I love my dog.
Oh, sorry you took offense. I was responding to a poster.
No offense take...I’m just sayin, the more people I meet the more I love my dog.
yes. Good point and in fact—expect it to. Easy street is for those that comply and never buck and even they eventually come up against something.
It’s L. Ron Hubbard’s fault.
BANGOR, Maine - A spokesman for John Travolta says the actor's two dogs were leashed when they were run over and killed at Maine's Bangor International Airport.
Paul Bloch said Tuesday that the dogs were being walked from the tarmac to a grassy area when the accident happened last Thursday. The city says a service vehicle struck and killed the dogs after the airplane carrying members of Travolta's family landed.
That’s the thing about Satan - He’s very happy granting your request for riches and fame, knowing full well that its just going to fuel jealousy in the Saved.
At the same time, knowing full well the ninny in question can’t handle it, the fall comes and the rich end up staring into the abyss, and not being able to pull back, fall in.
It’s a win/win.
It’s not enough to use the rich to lure the poor, in the end he’s got to screw the very people he used in the first place.
It’s handy to remember that Satan’s hate for human beings is nearly as perfect as God’s love for them.
