Katty's Complaint: Crash 'Not Long Enough' To Turn People Off Capitalism
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Give that lady a Peabody!

The Peabody folks claim they give their awards. for "outstanding" journalism and "excellence." So just how clueless do you have to be to qualify? Take Katty Kay, the BBC's chief US correspondent, in New York today to pick up her prize. On Morning Joe, Kay got off a double-barreled dose of classic MSM-think:

1. she defended Elena Kagan's opposition to military recruiting on campus on the theory that the nominee is in the mainstream . . . of college deans.

2. chatting with the man who made Third World micro-loans famous and who preaches business without profits, Kay fretted that the crash "has not been long enough" to turn people off capitalism.

She is, however college deans are way outside the mainstream.

There’s capitalism, or there’s poverty. Take your pick.

Why don’t we all line up for the gas chamber? After all, we should no longer have any self interest.

Katty is one of those who should step down and let someone else have their chance.

Hey, Stupid Chick.

The second leg down has begun, just as it did leading up to the Great Depression (as a result of European debt default).

When it crashes, please don’t continue to air your ignorance. This is the fault of central banking (which is a Socialist banking system) and of Big Government Socialism, the two of which colluded to destroy their currencies and their economies.

Any "system" has its foibles...Capitalism was doing just fine and has built the most free and most powerful country in the world until the power-hungry, "kumbaya" crowd weasled into office.

Dispite what the dizzy MSM's think, people ARE smart enough to know that "capitalism" did not cause the world's current problems, or America's. The world's powers trying to force us into "socialism" caused the problems...coupled with a good dose of stupidity.

The statement that the "crash was not long enough to turn people off to capitalism" is inherently bogus because it was socialism that caused the "crash" in the first place...and socialism has dug us in so deep we may never get out.

"katty" doesn't realize that the longer the crash, and sooner the revolution. REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER.

I have seen her before and she gives the term “dumb blonde” a lot of reinforcement.

It is truly a shame for anti-capitalsts that capitalism works so well that people are not turned off by capitalism.

Accurate for the majority of people in the society. However, the leaders and their minions are always well off. If power over others is what turns you on, such a society is just great. IF you're one of the leaders.

It is also fair to point out that all present "capitalist" societies are actually a blend of capitalism and socialism, including the US. Our present government is doing its best to increase the socialism component.

A number of European countries do reasonably well economically with a much higher socialist component than we presently have.

Only because they are smaller and not as multi-cultural as we are.

Here’s something that really irks the elitists -

in a capitalist system, anyone, regardless of their birth or origins, can become wealthy and live comfortably,

by their own efforts and without getting “permission” first.

Socialism and communism have worked really well

when the human grouping is small...

like, say, in a “family”.

The country is in a depression, not a recession.

And make no mistake, it is all Obummer’s fault.

Not Bush’s.

We were in a recession under Bush but Obummer’s spending catapulted the nation into a deep depression which threw unemployment into hyperdrive.

The Obummer administration is one of the worst anti business administrations in American history.

They care nothing about free and open markets, capitalism, true entrepreneurship, innovation, research and development (except for the greenies).

Obummer almost makes Jimmy Carter look like Ronald Reagan in comparison.
