Because the UK’s NHS tells their elderly the same thing????

America’s elderly: Your termination notice is in the mail. And appropriately, it’s yellow.

I have heart disease and know that when I need it, they will not allow me to have Medicare - I can just see it coming. However, as long as I am able to stay self employed and buy my own insurance, I should be OK.
Zero and his minions just want the elderly sick to get out of their way....

One of the very few areas an all powerful big government approves of a budget cut, is the medical treatment of the terminally ill.
The voting public hates a monopoly, unless the monopoly is a bureaucracy, then we have fairness.

A baby at our church has a rare condition. His spine isn't connected. Can't remember what it's called. The surgery is over 100,000. The only doc that can do the op is in WI, the baby is in MI and has medicaid/medicare(I can't remember which is which). MI Medicaid won't pay for the operation in WI. The doc is willing to donate his time, the hospital will not accommodate the doctor. The doc said if the operation doesn't take place in the next several months, the little boy could be paralyzed for life. Our wonderful government at work.
This would not be a problem if the state/federal government gave people vouchers to purchase their own insurance.

Since its inception, the Federal Gubmint miscalculated & misspent the funding for Social Security and Medicare - then added the burden of an underfunded Medicaid program to the US health care system.
Seniors still pay premiums for Medicare and private Medigap plans which subsidize their health costs. Many seniors are healthy and don’t over-use benefits. Doesn’t matter - it is being sucked dry by Government bureaucrats, waste, fraud & abuse.

The elderly are a real threat to Zero because they are the generation who can remember America when it was America The Beautiful, not Socialist America.

It’s because of tax cuts.
If we were allowed to raise taxes to a reasonable level (say 100%) we wouldn’t have to do this.
But because you little people are greedy and stupid, I guess we’ll just have to live without the paradise.

A rational discussion of this subject is impossible.
It is an emotional debate between victims of unusual disease or genetic defects and the taxpayer who is expected to bear the open-ended cost.
The problem cannot be "solved." solutions can only be "agreed on" and, so long as the agreement applies to everyone uniformly it is both moral and ethical.
Underpinning the "debates" are several realities. One is that the American taxpayer can't afford, literally, to bear the expense of everyone in the world with similar permanent incurable or untreatable diseases.
Two - People who can afford it and/or are willing to bankrupt their families are free to do so at their option.
Three- other people, family, friends and strangers are free to contribute indefinitely on a voluntary basis.
Four - The law must expressly state that no one may be required, under any circumstances to contribute to any "unusual" event without their explicit consent.
