"Prez Obama wants to appoint athird woman to the Supreme Court. What do you think of that?"
Well, it completely caught me off guard and we're fortunate she held her opinions close to the vest. There weren't enough hours in a day to have also included Laura with all the Bush bashing from the MSM and now from the freepers on this thread. We voted for GWB and I'd do it again in a heart beat!
I’m overcome with grief. A great freeper who will be missed beyond words.
But one thing you can count is how quick they go to personal insults when the facts don't go their way.
But I'm goint to reiterate, that Bahbah's death has put a lot of things in perspective for me........things I was working on and praying about anyway.
She embodied the best of FR, and threads like this embody the muck at the bottom of the swamp.
If we are to keep focused on what we're really here for, we just need to avoid the seedy places and stay with the constructive, rational, informed, forward-thinking, decent people who form what I believe are the majority on this forum.
The minority make the loudest, ugliest noises, but I truly don't believe they represent any kind of majority. The decent majority see threads like this, and are repulsed and sickened that THIS is the impression the 'outside' world gets about FR.
They don't see Bahbah's wise, sweet, thoughtful posts on constructive threads. They see maniacs filled with hate on threads like this. It adds to the sadness of the passing of good, good people like Bahbah (and kayak and Gretchen, and others).
And it detracts from getting rid of the evil in the White House and Congress, which is what we conservatives are supposed to be about. (btw, are these haters conservatives anyway? Leftist trolls use the same words......)
I'm seeing an ugly free for all on a lot of threads lately.
Amen!
Dozens were banned or left on their own during the great "Rudy" purge of April 2007.
In brief, for those who have amnesia, Rudy was "dissed" because he wasn't a true "conservative" because of his Pro-Choice attitude and who can forget the photos of him dressed in "drag" at a party.
Rudy cleaned up NYC and stood tall during the 9/11 tragedy. His leadership and performance didn't seem to count for anything during the POTUS nomination process. He was thrown under the bus because of one very big flaw...Rudy was pro choice and that violated the core belief of conservatives.
If the lovely Laura Bush had been a FReeper during those dark times, there is no doubt she would have been banned for the opinions she expressed today. She is NOT a true conservative. She said what she said and meant it.
Most of the Bushbots who are arguing in her favor today, are the exact same ones who screamed the loudest against Rudy. They were relentless in their personal attacks against the Old Guard of FR. Instead of remaining silent and true to their convictions...they now have the nerve to defend Laura?
It's truly pathetic... but oh, the hypocrisy.
sw
A lot of good, solid conservatives won't post, won't read these awful threads, won't ask others to join this forum....
All I know is that irrational rage, filth, and hatred of any who disagree with them, are NOT signs of conservatism. There are uglies all over this forum, but I certainly wouldn't describe them as conservative. Just ugly.
Laura just backed a life-long doctrinaire Marxist.
And to the Bush apologists and sycophants, that’s quite ok with them. Laura Bush’s recent revelations are as disgusting and as disappointing if it were to be learned that Franklin Graham was in fact a practicing Muslim.
“And to the Bush apologists and sycophants, thats quite ok with them. “
But but...she’s only around 60. She can turn around!
Fringes? Since when has being in favor of abortion and selling out Christians abd bowing to the left wing crooks on Wall Street been on the fringes?
No sir/maam—you are a fringe-—.
Set-up question or what..
Thanks!
Too bad Barney wasn’t there to tell her to take the Fifth. ;-)
Oh I would, too, FRiend, but Laura's comments recently have left me kind of... disheartened... :-(
Well, in this case. ..it was 'vote FOR' and recieve. And in Laura's defense - not easy here, of course - but she did not vote for the man. . .who now wants Kagan on SC.
So now, it is left to us. ..to 'push the water' and make sure our Leadership' does the same.
May the 'knock on the door' for Obama, come. ..before this nomination is made 'manifest'.
And who’s getting ugly and calling names? You outed yourself on that one. You did call for her to “stop” posting Sanity Island, unless someone highjacked your computer that was your post. Besides, don’t you have better things to get all wee-weed up about besides what Laura Bush, a private citizen by the way, thinks. Also didn’t it ever occur to you that the media might have spun this or taken words out of context to make her look bad? Don’t be so gullible...and I will refrain from calling names here.
