Duly noted Earthdweller. Thank you.
On this one I’ll have to believe that Laura Bush tried to stay above the fray by saying it’s great that another woman has been nominated.
She’d be as bad as all the liberal NAGS that berate other women in politics.
I don’t believe she supports Kagan political views. I could be wrong but frankly...
So learn me up on how achieving widower status would be a result of 'clueless'?
This conversation is now ended.
The field is yours ... enjoy...
Thank you .
you made sure that everyone in the forum...
If you are going to police the forum, learn the rules.
...what exactly was it that you were standing up for? What was your point again?
My point? When I find somebody who is a bigger a-hole than I, I like to share the news ...it's so rare!
Before you vote, KNOW whom they sleep with.
"The good thing about ME is no one had a clue!"
There are several problems with this;
The first is obvious and that is that no one is perfect and no one’s beliefs and/or opinions are 100% right and pure. The second is it doesn’t allow for human beings to grow and change thier wrong thinking. It locks them into one place in time and then kicks them to the curb as unacceptable, undesirable, etc. How can you ever expect anyone to change or listen to you when you treat them that way?
Don’t misinterpret what I am saying, I believe if Laura Bush is prochoice or pro gay marriage, she is wrong. My hope is that she comes to see this in her own life and changes her mind. There is very little in this thread that would encourage me to change if I were her happened upon it.
If you live your life as an ideological fundmentalist insisting that everyone must tow the line as you see you it, no one will ever meet your expectations “perfect.” Your dissatisfaction will become a permament fixture in your life.
Laura Bush does not deserve this treatment. She deserves time and opporunity to change her mind.
Mmm hmmm. Yep. Uh huh. Sure. Soitenly! Yes, indeed. She sho duzz! Another 60 years or so ought to do it since I guess the first 60 didn't take or something.
You’re the reason a lot of people don’t want to listen to a thing conservatives have to say.
All true, all irrelevant to the issue at hand. She hid her Pro-Abortion liberalism very well, few on this forum knew her true feelings.
Is she trying to get book sales from lefties? She’s losing the right’s sales. I was going to buy her book; but now, no way.
For 8 years Laura Bush performed the duties of First Lady honorably, gracefully and with dignity. She brought a welcome breath of fresh air and decency to a White House that has been tainted by the likes of Hillary. What more could we ask of her. She still stands in sharp contrast to the current residents of that great house. I respect and admire her for that.
"The opinions Laura Bush is expressing in her interviews and in her book are not Conservative"
Perhaps she is not conservative enough, or does not conform to a rigid, narrowly defined model but it is doubtful that any serious person would call her a liberal.
"The Mouthpiece Media use things like this to whittle away at our foundation, our tenets, our support."
Only if you allow them to do so by choosing to be a follower rather than a leader. It is true that our enemies are always looking for ways to deliver a package of strife and division. When we reactively trash one of our own for using a few ill-chosen words or having a position that does not line up perfectly with ours then it is we who have acquiesced, not the person expressing an honest opinion. We would become the foolishly swallow the bait and let the hook sink in.
As for being interviewed by so many reporters... Well, duh! She is on a book tour she is not running for office or trying to set policy. Of course, reporters on the left as well as the right have been eager to interview her. She is a good and rare "catch" in a 24 hour news cycle that is saturated with the same old faces. As is Governor Palin who was also interviewed by liberal and conservative reporters when her book was published. Surely you do not think everyone who interviewed either lady to be a fan or supporter... Do you?
"Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing" - Proverbs 12:18
If you truly believe that the opinion of one woman who, in your opinion, fell from grace for speaking her mind and thus becomes a willing dupe of the left then don't you fall into the same trap. Be wise not reckless with your words.
But .. I’m sure you think Obama can be trusted ..?? Right ..??
Exactly.
I totally understood why you ping’d us, Kaslin-—and thank you for doing so! Yikes-I can’t believe what is going on in this thread! We knew it would be crazy, but wow. Thanks for all you do, Kaslin.
Don't suppose Laura is on Facebook; where we all could kind of 'share a wise word with her'/lol/. . .
Amen
"We would become the foolishly swallow the bait and let the hook sink in."
Clarification: Then it is we who foolishly swallowed the bait and permitted the hook to set.
Sorry.
Sorry .. you discount the media’s constant bad-mouthing of Bush. Even Karl Rove has stated in his book that one of their worst mistakes was not answering back at all the liberal garbage.
One of the major reasons we have Obama is because the repubs sat out the elections in 2006 and 2008. I hope they’ve found out now .. that’s not a good move because it allows extremists like Obama to get into office.
However, after taking the wind out of the RINO’s sails .. maybe we can get somewhere and re-establish the repubs as the “conservative” party. And .. instead of being called, “the party of no”, we can be called, “the party of HELL NO!!”.
Weeelll... isn’t that special?
“... MISERABLE FAILURE ...”
Hmmmmm ..?? I don’t recall any attacks on US soil during the Bush admin .. Obama has already had 3.
I’ll take “miserable failure” any damn day of the week.
