Raising unemployment rates will threaten even “safe” Democrats and they ARE coming
The Collins Report ^ | May 15, 2010 | Kevin “Coach” Collins

Posted on 05/15/2010 8:51:34 AM PDT by jmaroneps37

The decline of the fortunes of Congressional Democrats hasn’t been the straight line some of us would like to see. Nevertheless, there’s no denying the Democrats are in trouble.

The polls bring them consistently bad news. Support for ... Arizona anti illegal alien law is growing beyond what anyone could have predicted, and the Democrats are seen as the face of the “enemy” by huge majorities of voting Americans.

However slim the chances of it happening, things could improve for Democrats if the heat surrounding SB 1070 were to die down. Things could possibly get better for them but the almost certain jump in unemployment coming in the next several months, makes that doubtful even for “safe” Democrats.

The Democrats will have brought this on themselves through distorted reporting of unemployment numbers designed to bring them short term boosts in the polls. Those distorted numbers will become disasters next November.

Telling people things are improving even when they aren’t will certainly bring more workers back into the job hunting market and swell the unemployment rate past the psychologically explosive 10% rate.

Missing workers

Unemployed workers who have stopped searching for work no longer show up on unemployment figures and are classified as “Missing workers.” Because Obama is telling these “Missing Workers” there are now jobs to be found, 10% unemployment rates will be with us as far as the eye can see.

A private economist doubts the “improving” job market, he points to figures from the private Institute for Supply Management whose latest non-manufacturing survey sets the actual private sector job growth at 100,000 per month instead of the reported 200,000 per month level. It says [in May] 805,000 “missing workers” re-joined the labor pool, causing the unemployment rate to jump to 9.9 percent even ... economy created jobs...

This is a bubble that should break in their face around September or October. Everytime I hear Obama's regime tell us their recession is over I think of all the empty stores on the main street in my part of town. The number always goes up; it never goes down.

More “missing workers” will come forward and it won’t be good news for the Democrats.

So it is possible to escape from the re-education camps. They did not learn their lesson. They are supposed to be couch-testers who receive no pay.

This in now way absolves us from wearing out the shoe rubber on the pavement in November and taking nothing for granted, but I have to say, after the HISTORIC landslide against the Democrats in the midterm elections, and the recapture of both legislative bodies, watch the US MSM networks all walk lockstep as part of the Government-Media Complex and, true to their elitist ways, spin it as "American People" fail to understand what Obama is doing for the country to advance it forward, and are just uninformed and reactionary.

They will never, NEVER say for once that THE AMERICAN PEOPLE KNOW EXACTLY WHAT OBAMA WANTS TO GIVE THEM AND THEY CHANGED THEIR MIND AND WANT NO MORE OF IT.

“Everytime I hear Obama’s regime tell us their recession is over I think of all the empty stores on the main street”

Bank closings are running at DOUBLE the 2009 rate. An inconvenient fact that is largely ignored by the MSM who is cheerleading for recovery. They are going to be very disappointed in November.

There are also millions more who are not counted in the reported numbers
who have either taken part time jobs or have signed up for temporary work.
The “under employed” as they are often called.

Odd. Democrat leadership has absolutely no trouble denying it.

Unless the current crop of crooks (Dems and Repubs) is replaced by “smaller government” types, we can expect to see a continuation of our slide into the next great depression/civil war.

The SGS Alternate Unemployment Rate reflects current unemployment reporting methodology adjusted for SGS-estimated long-term discouraged workers, who were defined out of official existence in 1994. That estimate is added to the BLS estimate of U-6 unemployment, which includes short-term discouraged workers.

I talked to a guy today who is the coordinator for a company that leases large cranes for construction. He says there is NOTHING going on and nothing in the foreseeable future.

He says this country is coming to a grinding halt. They are not spending money on anything.

Even if the govt were to start spending the bailout money on construction its only a temporary fix.

Dont think the Dems aren’t plotting how to avoid the unemployment noose from tightening around their nicks.

I understand that the One just announced a new program to accelerate the hiring process for GOVERNMENT jobs to shorten the time from 200 days to less than 90 days.

I figure they will have to end all security & background checks to achieve this.

We should be entering the third year of extended unemployment benefits by Nov. and with Pelosi’s free
health care. We’ll be creating another class of Americans-the permanent unemployed.

Actually we have learned that rising unemployment rates are a good sign.

I’m sure Obama is hoping for 25% unemployment by November, because that will show that more people are looking for work.

You can’t make this stuff up fast enough folks...
