She is clear that she favors amnesty in the Univision interview. She has never backed away from that interview. All of her subsequent statements have been couched in such terms as "playing by the rules," which is the language of the amnesty supporters, including Obama. As indicated, some like McCain don't consider it to be amnesty if you pay a fine, learn English, and get to the back of the line. That is an amnesty.

Here is an example of the games played with words from her Lars Larson interview in December 2009:

December 2009

LARS: The amnesty proposal that was defeated in Congress — in your view, was that amnesty for illegals and would you back amnesty for a path to citizenship, as the current president calls it?

SARAH PALIN: No, I’m not for amnesty. Let’s ratchet this down quite simply to remember what we’re referring to. Illegal aliens are called “illegal” for a reason.

We need to secure our borders and I am not for amnesty. And there are humane ways to deal with the 11-13 million illegal aliens who are in our country right now, but if they’re not going to follow the rules, they need to get out.

Notice the "if they are not going to follow the rules, they need to get out." The right answer is that they must either self-deport thru attrition thru enforcement or be deported. They are not following the rules by just being here.

Here is a quote from Obama's STOU address:

""And we should continue the work of fixing our broken immigration system -- to secure our borders, enforce our laws and ensure that everyone who plays by the rules can contribute to our economy and enrich our nation," the president said."

“Any more doubts about who should be the Republican standard-bearer in 2012? “

Let me know when Palin answers this question (since people choose to ignore what she’s already said..NO DEPORTATION).

What would you do with the 12 to 20 million illegal aliens squatting in this country? Follow the law, which calls for DEPORTATION??

Every single politician has at some time endorsed somebody who was less than acceptable for one reason or the other.

Sometimes great leaders can have a real effect on people, even liberals, when they interact with them. Ronald Reagan's relationship with Richard Schweiker was a perfect example. Reagan stood by Schweiker at the 1976 convention even after conservative delegates stabbed him in the back and bolted to Ford, effectively ending his chances to win the nomination in an open convention.

Schweiker never forgot and went on to campaign for Reagan in 1980 and served in his cabinet. Check out this conversion, as shown in Schweiker's 8-yr. Senate ACU ratings history:

1973 = 20
1974 = 25
1975 = 9
1976 = 16

Ronald Reagan involvement

1977 = 47
1978 = 79
1979 = 88
1980 = 85

Richard Schweiker was never a movement conservative, but Reagan rubbed off him. Character and leadership sometimes pays off.

“Bullsh!t. She’s backed away from it several times- all posted here on FR- but not a single one of you will acknowledge it.”

Where? Stop with the insults and just show us where she says she is now for following the LAW by deporting illegal aliens...AND where she says she’s for workplace raids, because she said previously she was against it.

“Provide me with any of Palin’s subsequent statements on amnesty and I will show you how language is being used to mask where she stands. I deal with the immigration issue on a daily basis and lobby on the Hill and in the statehouse. “

Let me know if you get a coherent answer.

Thanks for posting that interview from last night. Palin sounds good and strong on the issue. But then, so does John McCain TODAY. I wish they’d make up their minds. Seems ‘minds’ change during an election.

Would love to see these poseurs show half as much outrage at Obama as they do over McCain.

Just sayin’...

Hey, Josh....those of us who question Palin/McCain show a lot more outrage over Obama than MCCAIN ever has!

Still backing this old fool...well, at least you’re consistent.

Listen Up! Great New Tune!

Flush the John! McCain’s Got to Go!

No modern politician would be able to deport all those illegals. First of all, there’s the logistics. What are you proposing, cattle or box cars? That creates a “Jews on their way to Dachau” photo-op for the presstitutes. There aren’t enough aircraft in the world to fly that many people and still perform their current missions. Secondly, the uproar from the Left and the International community would be 100X the current Arizona howling. President Eisenhower was able to initiate “Operation Wetback” because the press, ACLU and Federal judges weren’t the powerful forces they are today. Sounds like you’re doing an Alinsky on Governor Palin.

The difference is, Palin has been glaringly consistent since the election. McCain has been all over the map like a 16 yr old on prom night.

I see you continue to make baseless asumptions and jump to conclusion without thinking.

I do NOT support McCain. I had to hold my nose to vote for for him in 2008, and I did it because I know elections have consequences. The idiot wing of the conservative movement who sat out the election have helped to give us Obamunism.

I disagree with Gov. Palin’s endorsement of him. But like many others, I can see why she did it, and I don’t condemn her for it. I’m just tired of the whining from you and your ilk about moderate Republicans while Obama destroys what good men and women have shed their precious blood for since the Revolutionary War.

You are part of a pack that is obsessed with slamming Republicans and conservatives who are 100% “conservative”, and you save very little of your ammo for neosocialist Obama and his radical leftist administration.

I’m not the only Freeper who has noticed.

Nice try. Throwing out the usual BS about cattle cars. Sounds like an obama tactic to me.

And YES, they can be deported. Happens every day. Stop the pandering and they’ll go home.

Maybe we ned a ‘NOT so modern politician’ instead of these mealy mouths that change their tune every day.

What would YOU do with them...let them stay...that is AMNESTY.

BTW...we’re in this mess because good GOP standard bearers like you REFUSED to say a damn thing about this mess or oppose your cherished ‘leaders’ like Bush and Palin over their ‘compassion’.

Take your insulting ‘Alinsky’ strawman and shove it.
You’ve let this issue become this mess.

Question for you:

What do we do with the Catholic Priests who offer sanctuary to Immigrants? Do we have police storm the church? Do we have the priests arrested?

Please answer. Can we storm the churches and arrest the priests?
