Via Ace, whose post you should read if only for the brilliance of his headline.
Some of you will be tempted twice over to skip this: Its long, and youve already seen the most dramatic bit. Dont skip it.
Force yourself through it, because it happens to be one of the most genuinely depressing clips ever posted on Hot Air.
Everything about this is an utter, unmitigated disgrace the attack on Vilks, the excruciating passivity of most of the crowd, the sheer thuggery of these shrieking, lunatic, barbarian bastards, and of course the killer moment at around 8:45 when they win.
Do note, too, how the Aggrieved alternate between vicious threats and civil rights, warning the cops against brutality and reminding them that they pay taxes too.
Thats a familiar pattern nine years after 9/11. Theyd have torn Vilks apart with their bare hands if they could have but theyre all about proper procedure, you see.
Its almost not worth noting the media double standard applied to violence by sympathetic groups versus unsympathetic groups, but Ace did note it so go read his post. Needless to say, everyone associated with the decision to stop the film should be fired immediately.

dead on the money.
The film that Vilks was showing was not even his; it was a film created by an Iranian regarding homosexuality in Islam.
I’m not a big fan of “artiste” types but at least Vilks is willing to take on the hordes even after being threatened. That’s a lot more than can be said for most artists in the western world who are only “brave” enough to desecrate Christianity.
That was appalling.
Filthy, scummy people. It was clearly orchestrated, too.
I personally would like to beat the tar out of the witch in the striped sweater.
Savage beasts, the cops should have arrested all of them and the camels they rode in on. Filthy, nasty pigs.
Sort of heartwarming, the thought of a screaming murdering jihadist being beaten with a motorcycle chain.
When I take a healthy “allah”, I wipe my “mohammed” with pages of the Quran!!
Just in the spirit of interfaith dialog and tolerance.
I am appalled that not one Freeper condemned the vile film. It is a filthy, foul piece of trash. If that same film had replaced Jesus Christ for Mohammad, you can bet I would be yelling and booing the film as well, and behaving in a disruptive way.
That said, I believe in free speech rights, even for vile, filthy, immoral films. The human cesspools that make them have a right to do so and to air them publicly. But trash is trash and that film was trash.
As far as the behavior of the Muslims, yes, they seem to be a very backward people. They haven’t gotten to the point where they understand or value free speech. It is of benefit to let the human excrement reveal themselves through a piece of trash called “art” when it is just filth and vile.
We can’t afford for the type of thinking those Muslim’s revealed to become mainstream in the USA. If that kind of censorship becomes mainstream, then we are done. But knowing what I know of Islam, how backward it is, the audience responded exactly as I would expected them to have behaved. They would have beat the guy senseless if they could have, and that beating frenzy probably would have killed him.
Islam is a very dangerous religion, even the “moderates” are extreme compared to modern western people.
The war against Islam, along with the culture war against socialism, we are in for the fight of our lives. We are fighting on two fronts, but few seem to care apart from conservatives, of which most of the GOP is not.
Liberals must feel very conflicted when they see this.
One the one hand they can relate to the guy using gay erotica to piss off religious types; but on the other they can relate to disrupting people they disagree with when they speak at universities (Ann Coulter for instance).
So it must be very hard for a liberal to parse the right & wrong of this incident, since in a way, both sides must seem right.
My take is that it’s hard to say who’s more contemptible — the “provocative” filmmaker (careful what you wish for, buddy) or the neanderthal Muslims.
Maybe they deserve each other.
The muslim crowd response was typical outrageous reaction in violence. The film though was human sewage especially the soundtrack. Disturbing on all fronts! It’s a sicko world folks!
My thinking is along the same lines as yours. The film was trash and their reaction was trash. Screw them all — the stupid primitive Muslims and the pathetic passive post-modern Swedes. The guy at HotAir described it right when he said the video was depressing all around.
Freeper response chant:
“mo Ham on rye!...mo Ham on rye!...mo Ham on rye!...”
Demonic action ... Islam is from the wicked one, and its adherents are serving the demonic.
Who’s the ho in the leggings and mini skirt?
I agree.
Honestly, Muslims are sub-human. It’s like their entire society just stop evolving morally and psychologically in around the 10th century.
If that film was about jesus, the most that would’ve happened is that ten percent or so of the audience would get up and quietly walk out.
Mohammed raped 9 year old children and married them. Call me crazy, but I cannot seem to summon much sympathy or get too worked up over a film that denigrates such a piece of filth.
