Charlies List
Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly. Colossians 3:16
When Charles Hayward died last May at the age of 87, he left a legacy for his children and grandchildren. He and his wife Virginia had faithfully served as missionaries for many years both in India and South Africa. But at age 73, he began to select and memorize portions of Scripture so he would finish well with his mind full of Gods truth.
He called his project, The Whole Bible Memorization Plan. His children call it, Charlies List. Charles chose a theme verse (Col. 3:16), at least one verse from each Old Testament book, at least one from each New Testament narrative book, and a verse or verses from each chapter of the New Testament Epistles. He began with Genesis 15:6, He believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness and ended with Revelation 22:17, Let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.
All in all, Charles committed 239 verses to memory. He reminds me of the psalmist who wrote: Your Word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You (119:11). Like Charles, the psalmist meditated and delighted in Gods Word (vv.15-16). What better goal could any of us have than to fill our minds with Gods truth.
If you are faithful in reading Gods Word,
You can be sure that youre growing thereby;
And if youre hiding His Word in your heart,
Youll be rejoicing to meet Him on high. Hess
Memorizing Gods Word is like planting seeds that bear the fruit of a righteous life.

I enjoy tweaking my liberal friends in the local arts community. I've been giving them the business lately.
"You told me before the election that Halliburton ran our foreign policy and Goldmam Sachs ran our domestic policy. Today Goldman Sachs has a lock on everything, and when your guy tried to change foreign policy, the former CEO of Halliburton, some guy named Cheney, chewed him out publicly, and he did a 180. So tell me, how's all that hopey-changey stuff working out for you?"
I have a devilish sense of humor.

I liked many different styles of music as a teen as well.
None of my friends ever asked to borrow my Pat Metheny, Al DiMeola, Billy Cobham or Chick Corea albums.:)

And a very good evening to you Teenie! *hugs*
Did I read that you had rain yesterday?

REST IN PEACE, FALLEN BROTHER!
Pvt. Kevin McKay, 1st Battalion, Princess Patricias Canadian Light Infantry, KIA Afghanistan 14MAY2010
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7 (KJV)
Flowers of the Forest
Black Watch Piper
Rest in Peace, fallen brother, rest in peace! We who remain hold you in high honor. Rest, fallen brother, in this sacred precinct; We who remain keep this place sacred. Rest, fallen brother, among these, your comrades; We who remain keep the watch. Rest, fallen brother, among these who answered the Nations call; We who remain press the fight forward in your name. Rest, fallen brother, lay down thy burden; We who remain have taken up the torch. Rest in Peace, fallen brother, rest in eternal peace!
