Arizona limits ethnic studies in public schools

(CNN) -- Fresh on the heels of a new immigration law that has led to calls to boycott her state, Arizona's governor has signed a bill banning ethnic studies classes that "promote resentment" of other racial groups.

Gov. Jan Brewer approved the measure without public statement Tuesday, according to state legislative records. The new law forbids elementary or secondary schools to teach classes that are "designed primarily for pupils of a particular ethnic group" and advocate "the overthrow of the United States government" or "resentment toward a race or class of people."

The bill was pushed by state school Superintendent Tom Horne, who has spent two years trying to get Tucson schools to drop a Mexican-American studies program he said teaches Latino students they are an oppressed minority. There was no immediate response from the Tucson Unified School District, the law's main target.

Jan Brewer, raising Arizona, leading America, from the Governor’s Mansion.

Doing what no member of Congress, no president has ever done, closing the border, taking a tough stand against illegal immigration.

They did not ban ethnic studies They banned classes from teaching racism and advocating overthrowing the government.

Details, details. The MSM is only interested in the simplest Democrat Party talking point it can get across. "Arizona bans ethnic studies" will be the meme.

Every state should just consider droping all Colleges of Liberal Arts. And Fine Arts.

Let private schools indoctrinate future civil servants.

We should celebrate and teach our unity.

Celebrating so called diversity is evil.

“Arizona bans ethnic studies in public schools”

This is very good. The Alinskistas (Alinskyites) are trying to fragment our society with class warfare. This puts a stop to that aspect of it in Arizona.

I am so glad to see some American women like Brewer step forward with rational, conservative ideas. Usually, all you get is some silly communist tripe. GO get ‘em Brewer, Bachman, Palin.

May God watch over, guide, and protect her in the palm of His hand. Amen.

She is leading a dangerous charge into a battle against seen and unseen forces.

This new law is right and good. Teachers should not be indoctrinating students in divisiveness, but lifting them up in a land where freedom to succeed is your choice, your desire, and your dream and your destination. Teach success in America, teach American exceptional-ism. Teach, out of many...one.

Then again the “Main Stream Media”, you know them they call themselves the “real journalists” and they are special because they have “gate keepers” to keep out crazy stuff and misinformation. (haha)

I am a retired person who enjoyed a career in advertising. When we created an advertisement, we had to be able to furnish substantiation(proof) for the claims we were making or face severe penalties from the FTC and others. If today's news practitioners were subjected to the same standards we had to meet they would probably be in jail.
