I couldn't agree more. The current situation in this country is like a marriage in which both parties know it's emotionally "over," and the only thing holding the "union" together is uncertainty on how to divide the assets.

Basically you're correct. The country cannot remain divided like this for much longer and hold together. I've said in the past the situation in America is approaching explosive conditions. It's only the civility that remains in the conservative majority of America that is keeping a lid on the situation. But the depredations of communist Democrat Party/Left is quickly using up that reserve of civility. I think the approaching economic collapse that many people think will occur will be the tipping point. Or maybe another muslim terror attack on the scale of 9/11 (that Obama allows to happen) will do it.
