it would be so helpful, if I had any idea where this is happening.
Soemtimes the inclusion of little facts such as who, what and where make a thread so much more interesting.
Mollohan is gone. I don’t see any way for him to make up the difference now.
This is the race for dog catcher in Toledo Ohio.
The turnout is about even for Dems and Reps in the Mollohan district, which bodes well for November.
Sorry I thought good Conservatives would know who Alan Mollahan is. He is only one of the most corrupt Democrats on the Hill. Anyway it is the primary race in WV.
It has been called for Oliverio, and this is HUGE. Mollohan was a HORRIBLE representative; he turned off his fax machine on the day of the health care vote.
Oliverio is a DINO in many ways. From Wikipedia:
“Oliverio is considered to be a conservative Democrat and has espoused issues such as reducing the national debt.[2][3] He identifies as pro-life and is opposed to abortion rights.[4] He also supports an amendment to the West Virginia Constitution to ban gay marriage.[5]
Along with Delegate Jonathan Miller, a Republican,[6] he serves as the state co-chair of the American Legislative Exchange Council, a group which that seeks “to advance the Jeffersonian principles of free markets, limited government, federalism, and individual liberty”.[7][8] Oliverio was also thanked in a 2006 speech by President George W. Bush for his assistance in securing the confirmation of Samuel Alito to the United States Supreme Court. Bush said, “I appreciate Senator Michael Oliverio, he’s here. Mike I think did the country a great service when he worked on behalf of Judge Sam Alito to get him confirmed by the United States Senate. I appreciate your — I want to thank you for that, Mike.”[9]
On March 20, 2010, West Virginia Republican Party chair Doug McKinney referred to Oliverio’s conservative political leanings by saying, “Sen. Oliverio has always been a conservative guy. He votes with the Republican on committees. We’ve joked for years he needs to come over to the party who thinks like he does.”[10]”
Even if a Republican doesn’t take this seat in the fall, this is a huge step in the right direction.
“WDTV is the CBS affiliate for the Weston/Clarksburg/Fairmont, West Virginia media market.”
West Virginia
Alan Mollohan is a Democrat West Virginia Congressman, and one of the “Cardinals” of the Appropriations Committee which makes him one of the most powerful men in Washington. But he still lost the Democrat primary to a more conservative guy, Olivero.
I agree. It is the district I grew up in.
Channel 11 just called it. Mollohan is toast. This really is big news. Mollohan has been in there forever and was considered a safe dem seat up until this year.
LOL!
He voted for Obamacare. That was the last straw.
14 terms! This is one for the textbooks. They’ll blame it on his ethics problems, but his constituents put up with them for years. I say it was his allegiance to the Pelosi-Reid-RAT-Obama agenda.
Good. It’s high time we started getting some conservative dog catchers on the job.
Good news.
