I what percentage of union workers really believe the union is good for the economy of out nation.
As a cancer survivor, I have to say that equating progressivism to cancer is an insult to that terrible disease.
I don’t know percentages but I suspect giving members a means of fighting back financially would expose some deep rifts within the industrial unions. I used the term “union tax” instead of “union dues” and found that it made union leadership very unhappy. LOL
I look at SEIU, teachers unions etc seperately. They are insidious ideological unions and nothing more.
Greece bailout is only just beginning to cost us.
Who will be left to bail us out of what Dear Leader is doing to us?
Actually I don’t want anyone to bail us out. We gotta dig our own way out of this hole and stand on our own.
If we can do that, we’ll be back on top. (which is precisely what Obozo doesn’t want)
so the union thugs will be by the first of every month to “collect”.
IMO, the idea is to make sure there is no one who can ‘bail’ us out.
Then comes that sucking sound of the NWO, poverty, death and totalitarianism.
I quit public school teaching 15 years ago. My yearly dues were $450. Each year they had to ask to take it from me each year. If I said no, they would take it anyway because of ‘fair share’, but I then wouldn’t have the legal coverage if a student decided to sue me.
They have to get rid of fair share too!
That’s just it - they want us to look to some entity to bail us out. We cannot do that because whomever does it will OWN us!!!
All entitlements are about a “fair share” that I can’t seem to find in the constitution.

“Reshaping the Economy”
I’m nowhere near a financial expert and really understand little about how all this stuff works but I do know the difference between right and wrong.
Not exactly on point, but this reminds me of payroll deductions in general. If income taxes weren't deducted, but instead you had to send in a check every quarter (like I do on estimated taxes) people would think of it more as "their" money and would be much more attentive when taxes are raised.
Oddly, it was Milton Friedman who came up with the idea of payroll deductions during WW II. He was a young economist working for the NBER, and the government was desperate to raise funds for the war. He said later that he'd repeal it if he could, but thought it necessary at the time.
