A few years ago he decided to draw Mohammed as a pooch and has been dodging killers ever since, from garden variety Islamist nuts like “Jihad Jane” all the way up to the leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq. Funny thing, though: Not only wasn’t he intimidated, he practically dared the mujahedeen to come and get him, letting CNN cameras film his home and even booby-trapping the place in case the soldiers of Allah paid him an unexpected visit. Vilks has faced numerous death threats over the controversial cartoon, but said in March he has built his own defense system, including a “homemade” safe room and a barbed-wire sculpture that could electrocute potential intruders.
He said he also has an ax “to chop down” anyone trying to climb through the windows of his home in southern Sweden.
“If something happens, I know exactly what to do,” Vilks told The Associated Press in an interview in Stockholm.

In the video - check out the hands of the guy with red shirt/black vest right at the beginning. Sure looks like he is stashing something. There was a lot for security to watch, but it would have been so easy for someone to introduce a blade into the mix.

Swedish artist Lars Vilks, whose drawings of Mohammed as a “roundabout dog” have provoked the most recent round of Islamic seething and threatening, has acquired a dog for protection.
And named it Mohammed.
This makes Lars Vilks, single-handedly, more courageous than the entire Western mainstream media.
No wonder he got attacked, dog lovers of the world should understandably be outraged by such an insult to their canine friends!
Rats and monkeys, especially chimps, being truly repulsive, while dogs make wonderful friends you can sleep with, he should have drawn Mohamed as a rat or chimp.
I think he should move in to the middle of a Hells Angels neighborhood. That way he gets to be bait for the counter-jihadists! LOL!
