Tim Rutherford of Senior Citizens Inc.
Soon they’ll all be falling on their prayer mats 5x a day.
This entire story is hard to believe, particularly that this nonsense is actually an 'operational guideline'. If true, this thing really needs to go viral and make it into talk radio and all possible media.
What can the gov. do if they do pray. Nothing. Some of these seniors would like to go to jail and get three squares, medical, and housing for a couple of years free.
This could be a PR nightmare if they try to put the seniors on the sidewalk.
I have yet to find the "seperation of Church and State" anywhere in the constitution. People believe what they are told, so the march to get rid of God and replace it with the "State" continues until we bring it to a screeching halt.
“Seniors Not Allowed to Pray Before Meals at Nursing Home (WAKE UP FOLKS)”
Misleading headline. They ARE allowed to pray, just not have a common, open prayer. Silent prayer before meals taken with mixed groups has been a long tradition. Maybe they can seat the seniors in groups. Southern Baptists over here. Mormons to your left. Jews to the right. Muslims in the left rear, Catholics right rear .... and let each have their open prayers ...
Does this mean that if you are on welfare, you aren’t allowed to pray?
If they were praying to zero, then is would be allowed to continue! /s
Cordially,
The same kind of people who would make a 90-year-old stand outside in the cold to have a smoke.
Remember when they started doing that? I do, and lots of people right here on this forum cheered about it.
So now they’ve started to tell Gramma that she can’t say grace before a meal and people are surprised that they didn’t stop with those Twisted and Evil smokers?
They used the smoking issue to tenderize the populace into accepting these sorts of demands on personal liberties. It worked so well, they decided to go ahead with even more demands.
Too late to start complaining about it now, I fear...
All I know is I sure wouldn’t have asked Granny to step outside for a smoke in the cold, and I sure wouldn’t tell her she can’t say grace, either. To Hell with those “regulations.”
Regards,
I agree...It’s bs...How the hell can you stop them from praying?? It’s not like it’s even said out loud.
“Im calling b.s. on this story. I just dont believe it.”
This was posted last week also and from a different news source. So it look to be the real deal.
Let’s let the phone calls and letters flow to the administrator/owner of the home.
The story does not indicate a "common, open prayer", but only "open prayer". For it to be as you say, they'd all have to be seated and participate in the prayer more or less at the same time. Not enough information to conclude that.
And, the story also says they now allow the "moment of silence" rather than actual prayer.
There are no restrictions on any welfare benefits so this is discrimination, IMO.
We have the same thing here. There is a prayer led by a monitor at the center. The worst that can happen is that you say your own prayer before you eat. Seniors aren’t dumb...
Nothing in the story indicates that a prayer is led by a monitor, but it reads as if many different people were praying.
I hope you are right but my pessimism has never been wrong before.
I’d pray anyway, what are they going to do arrest them? That’d make a good headline. 80 year old grandma, arrested for praying over her meal.
