The United States, Russia, Britain, France and China voiced support on Wednesday for making the Middle East a nuclear-weapons-free zone, which would ultimately force Israel to scrap any atomic arms it has.
The move, in a joint statement, reflected U.S. concern to win Arab backing for sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program by offering a concession over its ally Israel, but Washington says the zone cannot be actually established yet.
"We are committed to a full implementation of the 1995 NPT resolution on the Middle East and we support all ongoing efforts to this end," the five permanent U.N. Security Council members said in a statement issued at a conference taking stock of the 1970 nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
The 1995 resolution adopted by signatories of the landmark arms control treaty called for making the Middle East a zone without nuclear arms. The Jewish state has never confirmed or denied having nuclear arms.
"We are ready to consider all relevant proposals in the course of the (NPT) Review Conference in order to come to an agreed decision aimed at taking concrete steps in this direction," said the statement, which was obtained by Reuters.
U.S. support for the idea of creating such a zone in the future could be unwelcome to Israel, which has said it can only consider it once there is Middle East peace.

Reading all the headlines on Drudge - I am really starting to think that history is repeating itself. I used to think that perhaps Europe could not possibly find itself back in the position to be in the middle of such a freakin mess - but HERE WE ARE.
Throw in Russia and a few other countries - trouble beyond our imaginations is brewing.
The question is - can we do anything to stop this train that has been set in motion. It appears not.
It is almost like we are watching a movie.

I think they should disarm, also. And, it’s so simple to do: If they have 200 nukes, they could just crank Pakastan, India, Iran, China, North Korea, etc, etc, into the fire control targeting computers and then push the ‘fire’ button. In a few minutes....GREAT BIG B-O-O-M-S AND PRETTY MUSHROOMS.......thus they will have destroyed a bunch of their nukes.

The most dangerous period in American history will commence if the elections this year go very badly for the democrats. All thug nations will estimate that Obama will be a 1 termer and will thus make their evil moves during the last 2 years of his presidency.
A particularly critical period will be the short amount of time between Obama’s loss in 2012 and the date when his replacement takes over. An interesting date also happens to fall during this short window....curious.
I can’t believe this:

I thought some 66% voted for him, and it was nearly 80% — it boggles one’s mind.
Now he lost some of their support, but still has more than he deserves, it should be 90% NOT wanting to vote for him.

Unfortunately, it’s true — Reuters got a hold of the actual text and I checked and it’s confirmed by other sources. Obama is doing everything to paint Israel as the bad guy and whitewash Iran.

Yes, indeed. I would feel so comforted to know that Israel has been disarmed, just as long as N Korea and Iran still have nukes.
