Meet a man who plans to balance the federal budget without raising taxes and put the U.S. economy on sure footing without bailouts, overhauls, or takeovers: Wisconsin Republican Paul Ryan....
WASHINGTONPaul Ryan likes to hunt. The strategy involved in tracking his target, the need of going at it alone, the skill to take aim, and even the thrill of the kill are reasons why Ryan, who recently turned 40, goes hunting as often as he can. But he prefers walking into the woods without a gun.
"Rifle hunting is easy, but bow hunting is tough," claims Ryan, who stalks prey with his bow as often as he can, even making his own sausage from his kills.
The sport's allure to Ryan provides clues to why he is drawn to the part of his life that's not a hobby: being a lawmaker. This year Ryan, a six-term Republican congressman and senior member of two key committees, shot a quiver full of arrows at the nation's ongoing fiscal crisis by targeting healthcare, the tax code, trade policy, and entitlements in a substantive and daring proposal he calls the "Roadmap for America's Future."

In Washington, Ryan currently has in his crosshairs a White House and Congress he says are pursuing policies that will create a national culture of dependency and drain individuals of the will to make the most out of their lives. To fight that, he has come armed with something many complain is missing in the current breed of elected officials bearing the conservative banner: ideas.
No one finds this post-worthy?
I think Ryan is great and is an emerging conservative powerhouse. Tho I don’t agree with every position he has ever taken over his 6 terms, he reminds me more of Reagan than just about any other politician currently in Washington.
I hope he will consider higher office.
armed with conservative ideas? He has been talking about Soc. Sec, Medicare, and deficits for at least 3.5 years.
hmmm, he hunts with a bow because he wants to ban guns/s
I follow him on FaceBook. He appears to be an anomaly - an honest, intelligent, patriotic politician. I would love to see his plan enacted. I am glad he is getting more media coverage. As I posted on his FaceBook page, the only good thing to come out of Obamacare is that more people are finding out about Paul Ryan.
I don’t know the man but I found this.
Voted YES on prohibiting product misuse lawsuits on gun manufacturers. (Oct 2005)
Voted YES on prohibiting suing gunmakers & sellers for gun misuse. (Apr 2003)
Voted YES on decreasing gun waiting period from 3 days to 1. (Jun 1999)
Rated A by the NRA, indicating a pro-gun rights voting record. (Dec 2003)
Ban gun registration & trigger lock law in Washington DC. (Mar 2007)
Allow reloading spent military small arms ammunition. (Apr 2009)
To get more people to buy into his ideas, he needs to have those ideas published. Is there a website where one could read his road map?
I answered my own question by going to his website and following it to this link:

Thanks bushwon. I've been following Mr. Ryan for a few years now. I have also been trying to trying to make more people aware of him.
In 2005 after his reelection as president, Bush offered the top job of budget director to Ryan but Ryan turned it down to stay in Congress. Two years later he became the top Republican on the House Budget committee, chosen over 12 more senior Republicans in the group.
Hey, any man who can sit in a tree stand and stay quiet enough for large animals to get close so he can put them on the dinner table is OK in my book. I can’s shoot a bow, I’ve tried and had some good teachers, but it ain’t in my skillset.
Good on ya Paul. Wonder what the libturds would do if WallyWorld quit putting food on the shelves. I guess I’d be eating a lot of squirrel and dove, stuff I can take with my pellet gun. At that point my woman starves ;)

He’s the Un-Obama. He’s intelligent, rational, mainstream conservative on the big issues, not a career blowhard politician, and most of all by all accounts NORMAL.
Thanks for the post and the link! I, too have followed him, but was unaware that he had turned down budget director position—given the sad series of events of 2006 going forward, it was a good move on his part tho the country might have fared better had he served.

Some of those positions in the last 6 terms: Ryan voted yes on TARP and the auto company bailouts. Family Research Council reported that Ryan also favors the anti-free speech, anti-religion, attack on the First Amendment known as ENDA (Employment Non-Discrimination Act) as long as it doesn’t include the category of transgendered:

If you read my post closely, I said I did not agree on every position he has taken—who does over 12 years?! But thanks for pointing out only negative ones—you obviously have an agenda. Who are you supporting? How about all the other positions Ryan has taken regarding the budget. Guess we should ignore those.
