I wouldn’t characterize it as those kids assailing the man in the wheelchair. He should not have grabbed the flag out of the kid’s hand. I didn’t see anyone hitting the man - simply trying to get the flag back (playing tug-o-war with it).
I was merely commenting on the video you linked. I didn’t say it excused the kids behavior, either. It was, IMHO, a VERY poor choice of words by whoever did make up the title. The “secondary” definition of the verb “assail” is not the common usage of the word — the most common usage would be violently attacking with blows, not with words. Hence, why I wouldn’t have characterized it with that word myself.
It’s a shame we didn’t see who came up to who or what happened just before he snatched the flag.
