Nearly four years after Hezbollah fought invading Israeli troops to a standstill in south Lebanon, the militant Shiite group says it's prepared for a fresh conflict and confident of victory.
"We are ready for another war and we eagerly await it," says veteran Hezbollah fighter Abu Hadi on a drive through the Bekaa Valley. "We expect the next war to be short. The Israelis will not be able to endure what we will do to them."
Hezbollah's leadership insists it does not seek a war and that its military preparations are a defense against potential Israeli aggression. Yet, the inconclusive outcome of the 2006 war has stoked a feeling here that another war is inevitable.
War drums have been beating faster in recent weeks amid allegations that Syria has supplied Hezbollah with Scud ballistic missiles a development that has enraged Israel, forced Lebanese leaders to seek international support, and complicated a gradual US-Syria rapprochement. On May 3, President Obama renewed sanctions on Syria for a year because of its "continuing support for terrorist organizations and pursuit of weapons of mass destruction and missile programs."
Hezbollah's strongholds in the Bekaa Valley are likely to be one of several front lines during another war with Israel a war that threatens to be far more destructive than the one in July 2006. Hezbollah says lessons learned from that conflict have been implemented, including new battlefield tactics and the acquisition of improved weapons systems, surface-to-surface rockets, and possibly advanced antiaircraft missiles.

But this time, they are arming themselves. What I worry is that Israel will be fighting on multiple fronts with people with modern hardware at the same time.
So you’re talking about a major attack. I was thinking more along the lines of a single strike from Iran.
I’m not so sure Russia or China would get involved. They would have Western Europe to deal with, then us.
It would be the end. For all of us.
Too depressing for me to give any more thought to on Mothers Day.
Read Isaiah 17:1 for a glimpse of how Syria ultimately does against Israel.
Even a single attack can cause a lot of problems. This stuff does not bother me because I study it.
So how did the Japanese deal with Hiroshima & Nagasaki?
If you seen some of the pictures I have seen its horrific.Remember these were two cities that were bombed three days apart. They were able to get aid from the outside. But, if its one massive attack in a single day, involving two countries with multiple cities the infrastructure will collapse due to the massive casualties.
But there were more deaths from radiation exposure from the years after the bombings.
Yes I know what it was like then.
But what are the conditions like now? Are the cities habitable?
Now that my curiosity is up, I’m going to surf for a while & check it out.
The cities are habitable. There are “relics” of buildings but its a habitable zone. The bombs back then were airburst and released little fallout. Much of the Nagasaki blast was deflected because its a hilly area.
Pretty amazing when you think of the level of destruction from such small nuclear bombs. Couldn’t imagine what today’s weapons would do.

The effects of today’s weapons would be catastrophic. It would set us back centuries.
So we’re talking in the order of around 35 times more powerful. And some with multiple warheads.
I remember the Cuban Missle crisis. I was sent home from school the day Kennedy gave Kruschev his ultimatum, and air raid drills became a weekly thing. Didn’t really scare me at the time, I didn’t understand what was going on. Bomb shelters were a common thing, a lot of people who had them made or made them themselves were thought of as quacks.
Most of those bomb shelters wouldn’t have been much help, I don’t think.
The quisling from kenya is tacitly complicit with mohammedan terrorists in their planned destruction for Israel.
Anyone who believes that mohammed obama will defend Israel’s right to exist as a free nation is a damn fool or a liar.
well the mussie scum does have a friend in the White House......
As soon as Hezbollah runs out of missiles, the UN (and sadly the US too) will pressure Israel for a cease fire. I’m sure the people of South Lebanon just luv completely rebuilding every 4 years or so.
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

I’m not worried about Israel.
