SEATTLE -- City leaders expressed shock and disappointment Friday at video that first aired on KIRO 7 Eyewitness News showing two Seattle police officers kicking a man as he lay on the ground. The man was detained during a robbery investigation last month. The two officers have been reassigned as police conduct an investigation amid a firestorm of reaction.

The problem with street justice is that some times the person is innocent. Street justice is the same thing as vigilantism.
Odd statement...you seem to be implying that the individual that was assaulted twice while down, committed a crime.
Turns out the guy the police assaulted is in the US Army at Fort Lewis.
To some professor living in an Ivory Tower.
I chalk it up to street patois - the cop helped that kid up, he doesn’t “hate” Mexicans, and frankly he didn’t even beat him. If he truly is a sick racist cop going around beating innocent Mexicans I would say that is a huge problem. We cannot determine that from this exchange. People are always quick to blame the cops - remember they were looking for robbery suspects and that involves weapons and cops dying. They may have missed a weapon in the frisk and if you thinks cops aren’t getting gunned down then you are mistaken. They have to rush into a near death situation when every other human on the face of the Earth would run from it.
I am not going to be quick to generalize and condemn.
Wow. That really pisses me off now. Here we have a kid who has sworn to defend America from enemies foreign and domestic, and this is how he's treated at home, by some power-crazed jack-booted thug.
Some of the comments on this thread are deeply disturbing. Other, reinforce what I believe to be true about conservatives - they don't tolerate racism, nor do they tolerate abhorrent behavior by police in the name of "law and order". This cop should be fired and prosecuted.

Four police officers standing around, one female.
One of the male officers says: "You got me? I'm going to beat the f****** Mexican piss out of you homey. You feel me?" then kicks him. Then the female officer comes over and does a stomp kick on him.
I think that everyone should watch the video and decide for themselves.
No question...the cop should be fired and jailed right now.
Now my blood is boiling....
Do you have a source for this info?
You might want to look at the link at post 30. Revelations are coming out now that may question what was said in this article.
Thanks. I actually found that article the day you made your comment. I was searching where it came from, and happened upon it from Google.
I think it's interesting that this kid hasn't come forward publicly, nor has he been identified by LE, at least that I can find. I did see that the Feds are opening up a civil rights investigation, that could lead to criminal charges against the cops. I would think that it would be difficult to make that case absent a complaining witness - this young man. I'm assuming he'll be publicly identified in time, as his identity is known to police because his name was redacted from the report.
I'm also guessing that in the brief period of time that they held him, they ran wants and warrants. Since they released him, I'm assuming the kid isn't a criminal - at least not one who is currently wanted by law enforcement.
My only thought is that if the kid either had a criminal history, or was an illegal, someone from the police force would have leaked it by now, to help the two cops in the middle of the mess.
Nope....If the suspect/detainee was deemed a possible threat or suspect, he should have been handcuffed.
This is not wartime...yet...Ya got a lot of cops out there really bending and breaking their authority. There were 4 or 5 cops surrounding this young guy when he was down...It was obvious he was not a threat at this point. They were all standing over him for Gods sake.
Their us VS them attitude, is reaching a new levels... BTW, I am pro-LE...But I'm also honest.
Thanks
