GAFFNEY, S.C. -- Cherokee County deputies are investigating a shootout that happened at Sonny's Restaurant on Hwy 29 just outside of Gaffney.

Officials said three attempted robbers were shot by two employees early Saturday morning. One of the three died at the restaurant. The other two were taken to local hospitals.

News 4 was told one of the employees also suffered an arm injury.

The same Sonny's Restaurant was robbed on Tuesday. The suspect in that robbery was arrested.

This happened a few blocks from where we used to live. The East side of Gaffney has gone to the thugs, crackheads and ho's. Glad to be out in the country now and away from that area.

I hear a few minutes ago that a second robber has died, but not confirmed.

I love a happy ending. If the second one died, it is even happier. Happiest if it a turkey and the employees bagged all 3.

Too bad one of the employees was injured but every strory ain’t perfect.

TWO employees opened fire? Sweet! If I ever get up that way I’ll definitely drop some bux there for lunch.

This is not Sonny’s BBQ, just a small Mom and Pop cafe. I love some Sonny’s BBQ myself. I agree, it’s almost as good as mine. LOL

The deceased was 16.

And if the 16 year old were ANYWHERE else but trying to commit armed robbery at a restaurant he would still be alive today.

Forgive me but I could give a rats a$$ about this little perp.

He took a chance and lost.

That is one less repeat offender the rest of us has to worry about now.

If all three die would this be called a ‘hat trick’?

That was what I was searching for — “Turkey” is the bowling term...

“Boy” shot and killed. Yeah. Probably right on the money. Anyhow, if the second actually DID die, restaurant employees should be DECORATED for bravery and eat free for the rest of their lives. And not to worry. They’ll undoubtedly get another chance at the third Obama voter in 5-10 years.

****The deceased was 16. ****

Another child who was turning his life around is killed by the easy availability of handguns! Sara Brady will dance in the blood.

Sarc/off.

Indeed! Inside joke for the Carolinas. But here's the reason Gaffney is peachy.

An armed robber is an armed robber. The victims are no less victims because of his young age.
